  1. You know....someone with a little more attention to detail would have caught that lol.
  2. I don't like asking people for anything. However, my need to be on a motorcycle leaves me no choice. If i could get hired on some-where, this wouldn't be an issue.
  3. Let me start off by saying i know this is a shot in the dark at best....but it never hurts to ask or try. Would anyone here be willing to trade manual labor (me) for a motorcycle? Obviously, im not looking for a brand new bike...maybe a 70, 80, or early 90 motorcycle. I would prefer running. Definitely doesn't have to be perfect, maybe needs some wiring, cosmetic, etc, work. Something that's old sitting around that you don't ride anymore that needs some work. This economy sucks better than Paris Hilton! I've been without a job for some time, putting in applications every where seems to do nothing. Its more than frustrating. I've decided to use this time to go back to school, money is definitely tight to say the least...but not a HUGE issue at this time....but obviously still an issue. The money i have had has gone to the paying for bills. Lots of them Like i said before i know it's a longshot, but hey...at this point this is my only option to get on 2 wheels! I can help you move, possibly haul stuff, house sit, dog sit, clean, cook...Manual labor that you don't want to do. I can detail your motorcycle, help you add stuff to your bike. Any idea's or suggestions are greatly appreciated. If your interested , hit me up.
  4. Was this the bike? Just looking at Cl and came across this. http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1148374649.html
  5. That's exactly what i was gonna say. Sounds like too much of a reference to Shittsburgh
  6. Welcome. Better late than never. Whats S-13 stand for?
  7. Is der an issue wif my statements? I wear a helmet 9 out of 10 times. If im going out for a ride, leaving town, etc...the helmet's on. However, if im just riding to the end of the street and making a right to get to the gas station...i don't see what the problem is. I mean....sure it's unsafe, but literally 2 min to get there, with speeds no great than 15-20...i'll take my chances.
  8. Damn man. Sorry to hear all this. I know it's gotta be frustrating to have a bike down. At least you have an another engine you can throw in there when you get the chance. If i knew anything about putting one in, i would be more than happy to help. When do you think you will be able to install the other engine?
  9. I agree 110%. There was a short time when i only had 1 helmet. So when the girl got on the bike with me, the normal course of action would be to give her the helmet....all the time. I'm operating the motorcycle, if we crash....and you die rather than me, because i had the helmet...that's just wrong. I would never ride again. I couldn't live with myself. Moral of the story...always give your passenger the helmet!
  10. I don't know if a thread like this has been posted or not. Here's a chance to talk about what you dislike seeing, hearing, smelling, etc, etc, on a motorcycle. Let's try and keep the squid's out of this! It's no secret that we cant stand them. My 2 biggest annoyances: 1- (Dents to the gas tank) I can deal with some scratches, chips...but for gods sake no fucking dents in the tank. To me there's nothing that looks worse on a bike. 2- (Over-sized, gaudy looking hard luggage) Especially on a sport bike or crotch rocket. For example, i think the Kawasaki Concours would be a descent bike, however to me...they get destroyed by the god awful accessories put on them. Those huge trunks they put on the back of the bike, i sometimes wonder if there's a small child in there. That's it. If you have a gripe to do with the appearance, sound, handling, etc, of any bike...please feel free to share!
  11. I agree with everything you said. It really is stupid to not wear a helmet, and it's not like it's hard. I think the biggest factor me, is the time it takes to pull on and off. Then again, that one time you decide not to wear it...could be fatal. I honestly have no idea how people can ride without eye wear as well. Maybe it's because i wear contacts and my eyes are a little more sensitive, but that's just asking for big issues there. What if a pebble, or bug gets stuck in your eye?
  12. No big deal. I know you weren't trying to preach. And i understand it can be of concern to see someone without a helmet. I'm still wondering if anyone is gonna let us in on who it was.
  13. When i heard about all the people who died in Mexico..my initial thoughts were, "damn this could be serious". I figured if we could just keep it out of Ohio would be ok. Of course obviously that didn't work out too well. It's the 2nd coming of the plague. We are fucked! I don't know to be honest. People dieing from it...definitely not good lol. Some are saying it's not serious, but the numbers of the dead don't lie. I'm not going out and shouting the apocalypse is here, but then again it's definitely something to watch out for. Oh and if one of your family members starts to sneeze, cough uncontrollably, etc. You know what you need to do. Load the shotgun and take em behind the ol' woodshed!
  14. No one's perfect man. I know your not trying to preach, but ultimately it's his decision. I wear a helmet all the time and have been caught once or twice without one over the season. (last year)
  15. LOL. I let my sister in law try to get the hang of riding a bike on my 1st motorcycle. Instead of stopping, or pulling the clutch...she guns it...wide open throttle. Into a damn tree. The only one in the yard! She hits it. It's like she aimed for it.

Welcome to the site. Is that your 1st bike?
  19. Thanks for the info Jagr. Obviously when it gets dark and the temps drop, i..like most people will wear a jacket. I have a leather one, but...i don't see myself wearing it in 80-90 degree weather. Maybe even the 70's. When i ride. I strap my boots on, my helmet, wear jeans and a t-shirt. Granted...i know that's bare minimum...if i were to wreck obviously my hands, forearms, would be the most messed up. I know they make breathable jackets for hot weather, but then again...most look like crap to me. Does everyone here wear a jacket in hot weather? Gloves?
  20. Hi to everyone again. I know alot of you probably have no idea who i am. I started with the site about 2 months ago i think. Haven't been on in over 4 weeks. I posted a while back about possibly having a hernia and to get some info on it.. Turns out that's not what it was. Just a large benign tumor. I had a pump attached to me for some time, and still have a bullet sized hole in my thigh. Fun times! lol. Due to recovery and not having a bike at the present time, i decided it was probably best that i stay away from the site for a while. It's been miserable to say the least. I hear motorcycles roar around town all day. Sometimes...i cant take it. My original goal was to get a fairly descent bike and see if i could meet up with all the great people here. I think finally...possibly i might be in position to land a bike. Who knows? I'm trying my damndest. It will have to be financed. If dealers are still giving out loans that is If anyone knows where i can find bikes for under 5k let me know. I found a few, but not too many. I've had my permit a while now. Almost a year. I've been looking at taking a MSF course and have some questions. I've looked at the website and just wanted to clear some things up to be sure. 1- If you pass the Basic Rider Course you are granted the paperwork to obtain your motorycle endorsement? 2- What gear is required? If i don't bring gloves, or what have you..will there be an issue? 3- If im using the course's motorcycle, will i still have to show proof of insurance? At this time. I think thats it. Thanks to anyone in advance who has more info than i do. I look forward to hanging out around the site more often, it's just hard listening to you bastards tell tales of your amazing rides of the day.
  21. Yeah. Honestly...it's no better than it was before i had the surgery. It still looks like i have the mass haha. Everything's a little painful at the moment, but i know i can ride. Been trying to get my brother to let me take his bike out for a spin. Hey, sure man. Anyone who has a passion for bikes is just fine with me. I cant wait to get a bike and meet people from here.

Damn. That sucks man. If they didn't fix it right the 1st time, i wouldn't pay again. But thats just me. That sounds like a pretty sweet idea. I love the design on your tank. Just wear some gloves when you clean it lol. Thanks man. I have been looking at a few bikes. I hope to have one in the next month. "prays"

  22. Hey man. I guess your message was meant for me? lol. I haven't been on the boards in over a month, since i logged in for a little last night. I had surgery to have a benign tumor removed about 4 weeks ago on my upper thigh, and everything else just kinda snowballed. I've been trying to actually stay away from the site, (dont know i told you this) but without a bike at the moment it's just torture. Reading all the great posts about riding, it's miserable lol.

Enough of my babble, hope your business is doing great man. You do amazing work! If i ever get a bike...i'll be coming to you, to get some great work done. You mentioned you had your bike in the shop? Did you get some work done man?

    Anyway, good talking to you
