  1. Just kinda stumbled on this website, it shows all the roads in every state that are considered Scenic, Sweeping curves, or Twisty. www.motorcycleroads.us Enjoy!

Lots of good scenery that's for sure; the problem though is having the control to actually stop and take pictures. Most of the time I just want to keep riding.
  3. Below 20% of max torque, not 20% below max torque or however you came up w/ your goofy #. Yes, on an 80 ft-lb torque wrench if you go below 16ft-bls (20% of 80) then it will be inaccurate, and the degree of inaccuracy increases exponentially the lower you go.
  4. Only took me 29 hours of drive time to get here, plus 10 accumulated hours of naps. So perhaps a three day weekend.
  5. Screw the PO box, I'll mail my envelope to Yota and have him hound you for an orange sticker for me.
  6. Still a torque wrench is never accurate once it goes below 20% of it's max torque, so that wrench is not considered accurate below 16ft-lbs.
  7. +1 factory manuals are the best, well worth the extra $.
  8. Well next time the Power "breaks" giver her written notice that it is broken, and if she doesnt get it turned on then you break your lease.
  9. Man if it's under 20 ft-lbs I just do it by feel... though I would never do that on a customer's bike
  10. Doing it yourself or getting a shop to do it? I did a headgasket replacement on my 96 Zx600, it was $50 for the head gasket and about a week of disassembling and reassembling when I had the time to work on it, shouldn't really take more than 3 or 4 solid hours of work if you have everything ready to go. A v twin might actually be slightly easier if it is push rod controlled, I tore the top end off an HD Evo motor, measured clearances, and put it back together all in 3hrs for class. When you don't have to mess w/ overhead cams and cam chain timing, it's a lot less of a headache.
  11. Take the cam chain tensioner completely out, if you have any tension on your chain then that is what is making it so difficult to get back in.
  12. Craig's is still your best bet, people on kawi forums usually know how much their bike is worth, people on CL don't, so you have a better chance of finding a good deal. Plus, like you said, the ones for sale are rarely within 200 miles of your location. I could probably find him one out here for $3500 or less and ship it back to Ohio, bikes are about $1000 cheaper out here.
  13. Yeah my offer is off the table, I don't work for that company anymore, sorry.
  14. The only time I would buy a bike that wasn't a kawi would be if I had the cash to get a 999, an RSV4, or an S1000rr... oh or an RC8.
  15. Sorry I missed this thread, totally would have flown in from Az Happy birthday! You get a bigger bike yet?
  16. Working on it, got a few classmates and one instructor that are interested, but it'll come down to whoever gets their tax return first.
  17. My roommate just converted the stock forks on his 02 R1 to all Race Tech innards, he thought it was a fairly simple process... but then again we're both at the top of our class at MMI; still I think you could probably save yourself a few bucks and do it yourself.
  18. Sounds like the light is grounding before the switch, follow the wires and see if any of the insulation has been compromised, next break out your multimeter and see if you have any volts going through the neutral indicator switch... I hope you have a manual, b/c it's going to be a bitch checking the wiring if you don't. Oh and the light being on all the time isn't causing any other problems is it? I don't think it would be tied into the ignition system, but you never know.

    Mmi?

Thank you Justin for your very professional and informed judgment that I don't know squat. I have been attending MMI since Oct 12th of 09, so slightly more than six weeks.
  20. Yeah, this winter has been really tough, I've had to wear a sweatshirt under my riding jacket almost everyday, and had to steal my roomies SP2's b/c my summer gloves just weren't cutting it anymore, and I had to shell out 9 bucks for the helmet chin guard thing that keeps to much cold air coming into my helmet at highway speeds. I can't wait for the spring riding season
  21. Yeah because they make there metalh parts even smaller and lighter so they break even sooner and more often.
