Hmmm... I have 17 U.S Patents. So I have some experience. You would have to read the patents to determine exactly what they are "protecting". It could simply be the "thread" used to the type of leather etc. Varies widely. I laugh at how many vitamin supplements claim "patented" and when you read the patent it pertains to the bottle not the supplement. Simply having a Patent doesn't guarantee others can not practice the art. I would bet any patents they have pertain to a specific claim and she asmentioned a slight change could totally avoid that specific claim(s). Take a look at the patent number on the Back of Pantene Shampoo Or Head & Shoulders. I'm listed as an inventor.

I've been thinking of lowering mine but have mixed feelings as everyone says it could hurt handling. You seem to be indicating otherwise. What did you use?

I took a quick look at my mags the numbers appear about right. For 2007 the Honda was next to last for H.P. The R-1 was last. The Suzuki was a tad ahead of the Kawi. Honda posted about 157 hp.

True, but I have never seen quite this large a disparity. I'll have to pull up some articles to review what the mags got for H.P comparisons.

You're comparing your bike to ones with PC3 and slip ons. Does your bike have these mods?

38F I was thinking all along that if I could get out of the Easter Egg hunt and ride up I'd be thinking the same thing.... "What the heck I am doing riding in 38F weather?" I've ridden in snow and in temperatures where my faceshield would frost up... but I tend to avoid those days like a plague now.

Personally until resolved I would leave the thread as is. As mentioned it could be the very presence of the thread that convinced them to assist. In the event you determine they are genuine than the resolution can be posted and kudos to Middletown. If not, it will exist to steer others away.
