I have a Honda Pilot with 4WD and an Odyssey Mini van, which with good tires, handles fine. You don't need a crazy 4wd vehicle unless you plan on off roading...in my opinion. And, I am from the south, and even I know not to be out driving around when three feet of snow is falling.

Okay, so now I am thinking about driving and bringing the fam which would be +4 more. Thoughts? Feelin' kinda guilty for leaving them at home. If I bring them, I will bring some more sides. Are others bringing their families?

I got a quote from progressive, my current insurer, and they wanted $1500 a year for a 2008 FZ6 and a 2002 CBR 600. Seemed like a lot to me.
