  1. Good point. It actually WAS a climate controlled environment. I'm gonna pick up a filter none the less today in the event I decide to change it.
  2. I'd love to hear more about what he did to that car. I know there's some headers and underdrive pullies out there now. Seems like whatever he did is working!
  3. You talkin' about me? if so the answer is no
  4. I swear this was discussed not too long ago but I think the search function is broken. How can there be no threads with the word "oil" in them at all? Oil in question is Mobile 1. Car in question has been in storage for 12 months. Fresh oil prior to storage. Not run at all during the storage period. Pulled out of storage and now has a couple hundred miles on it. Change the oil? This gives me an excuse to change brands too while I'm at it. OR Leave it, it's fine since it was fresh prior to storage?
  5. Nice. What was done to the C63...those are pretty impressive numbers.
  6. Gents, Detailing season is here!. To get everyone started off on the right foot we're offering 15% off all Microfibers product orders for the month of March. While the site still isn't full e-commerce yet I've put together this order form that you can submit and then I'll follow up with you to finalize deliver options and payment. http://andymobiledetail.com/tinc?key=s2R9hixI&formname=Order1 All product details can be found here. I hope to have a quick detailer and spray sealant to add to the line-up in just a couple of weeks. http://www.andyschoice.com Andy
  7. ...actually...I do need your help with something. Sending you a PM.
  8. Agreed. It's probably still more than adequate for my car's daily driver / never beat on status. I'll see if I can dig up a thread somewhere where guys were adding (on a suggestion from an oil analysis company) a small amount of GM assembly lube to their oil to replace the ZDDP content that was pulled in the reformulation.
  9. Prolly the 996 for shits and giggles. I've got a handful of slips from the M3 and would probably break it trying to find that last .03 it needs to run 12.99. My wife's going to see if she can get off work to bring her new toy too
  10. Correct the 0W-40 changed the least...but it still changed none the less. That's what I'm using int he A4 now. I was using 5w-30. That car never gets beat on so I didn't change to Redline like I did for the others.
  11. what the hell...I think I'm gonna sign up too and go look like a fool in my road racing prepped car.
  12. +1. I gave up doing my own oil changes long ago because it never fails that I make some stupid mess that I spend an hour cleaning up. It's about the only thing I won't do on my own.
  13. quit using it in my performance cars when they reformulated to be more environmentally friendly. Suppose I could stock up on oil for the Audi though.
  14. Compound then polish just like you would regular paint...except you'll have to do it all by hand vs. with a machine. For the final polishing stages you'll want to use some sort of non-abrasive foam or microfiber towel. It's just tedious and time consuming but shouldn't be too difficult. I can bring some polish to work one day if you want that you're more than welcome to use. Andy
  15. Great pictures and nice ride. Andy
  16. True...but sadly there's not much out there.
  17. Agree. I dislike the fact you can really see the stuff on my M3...but it doesn't stain and it protects like nothing else.
  18. I've seen alot of work from Automotive Appearance pros and most of it is done very well. There was one job I saw I told the guy to complain and have them re-do it and I believe they did once he pointed out his complaints about it. The newer film that's on the market is the best I've seen yet as far as being hard to detect but seems to stain from bugs much worse than the old crap that turned yellow after 2 years. Andy
  19. Agreed..they are an outstanding tire.
  20. Nice AJ. Should make for even more fun at the track and Auto-X. Probably a better choice for an Auto-X cam to keep low end power for the slow stuff right? Andy
  21. It wouldn't be on the top of my list for a GT / sports coupe. It wouldn't be that far down the list either. I honestly think that they're going to sell the crap out of these cars if they live up to the hype. An sporty front engine, rear drive coupe with a decent amonut of power and a decent price. No offense to the front drive crowd but hopefully alot of them convert and see the light of how enjoyable a great sports coupe can be to drive. I'm guessing they'll get alot of their business from potential eclipse owners who see the light of having the drive wheels in the right place. I just wish it was about 250lbs lighter and I don't care for the front end styling. Still think they'll sell a ton of them. Andy
  22. Went to pick one up in TX last weekend and after taking every precaution it turned out to be wrecked and had body work done all down the drivers side....so the search continues. Won't be long.
  23. Ditch that goofy hood orniment and it's a great looking car. Tough to tell materials from photos but I saw a Genesis up close and was pretty darn impressed with that car. They are going good things lately. However If I"m buying something big and boring to drive it better have a TON of power to amsuse me.
