Crazy small world...I'm 99% sure that the car you bought is from the same family that just purchased my BMW. They kept talking about their old VR4 that they were getting rid of. Seemed like good folks that take good care of stuff. Andy

I saw the car the other night while I was in my M3...it caught my attention at first becuase of the wheels and it was pretty clean...then I too noticed that it apparently has had all of the windows busted out of it???..no rear glass...and no side glass. Dude must be out of cash from the wheels and none left over to replace the windows or something...gotta be a cold ride right now. He gave me the thumgs up in the M3...I couldn't stop staring.

Bump to the top. The only thing left is the Benfer intake for the 325. If anyone knows of someone with a 325 that's looking for a little extra power and a great sound this intake is for them. $70 and I'll even install it for them. Andy

Personally I think that the G meter (or whatever it's called) is one of the coolest things that I've seen recently as a factory option in a car. AND I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to read a thread on this board that doesn't pertain to straight line accelleration!!! On with the experimenting...I'll see you on the cloverleaf exit ramps on 270 in the near future!!! Andy

Please don't take this the wrong way because the CTS-V is a damn fine car, but I'm assuming that meter built into the car is the same thing that the G-tech uses to calculate cornering G's as well. The problem with the gague like this is that it will only record a peak number and the factory rating for the car is an averaged hold number and not a peak number so you should be able to easily break the factory specs as the car is only going to record the peak number. I was out playing with the G-tech this weekend with the M3 and was suprised at the numbers that I was achieving in a parking lot with Dunlop winter tires on the car...they were higher than the factory specs on Bridgestone S03's. Only when I realized that the G-tech is giving me a different reading than the factory specs did I realize that there's much more to be had from the car. Andy

Could someone please recommend a good exhaust shop on the North end of town. My new Car's exhaust has very good pipe diameter for the car BUT has 2 sets of resonators in the exhaust that I'd like to have cut out and replaced with straight pipes. Thanks. Andy

Bgbdbn: Not sure on the height yet...gonna put the coilovers on and drop it to near where I want it (probably around 1.5-2 inches) then take it up to TC Kline to have them cornerbalance and allign the car. Andy

Yup...I didn't buy this car to show it off...my wife is even itching for summer to show up to do some driving schools and track days!!! my only concern is her taking all of my seat time! Andy

Picked it up last Tuesday...and got to spend some TLC with her in the garage this weekend. Unfortunately after 6 hours I was only finished with the interior, engine and the front clip of the car...so the exterior shots are from the origional owner cause I havn't gotten it to my specs on the outside yet. p.s. coilovers will be here next week then she'll come down to earth some. Thanks for the compliments guys. I spent all day yesterday putting the car completely back to stock. All parts are still available at this point but are also being advertised separately as I need mod money for the M3 which will be here on Friday. Andy

Update on this topic...I found the perfect M3 and couldn't pass it up so the deposit has been placed and I pick up the car on Friday. Details: 2002 M3 Alpine White / Imola Red Leather, 6 speed, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, Homelink, Harmon Kardon, Bi-Xenon, 18' stock wheels with winter tires, 19' factory wheels with SO3's, UUC short throw shifter, UUC clutch stop, Hardwired for Valentine 1, Hardwired for Ipod, Origionally owned by a detailer (small world huh), current owner assumed the lease 8 months ago. Car carries the 100k mile engine warranty and engine recall was just done. Owner has every piece of paperwork ever produced on the car. pictures of it coming off of the truck when it arrived at MAG on the first day, Clear bra on the car since 2 months old so no rock chips, All service records down to changing of the corner lamps for condensation, Dyno sheet from 18K miles the car put down 290 to the wheels, 13.0 @ 107 timeslip from national Trails, I scoured the car for about 10 minutes and could only find 2 small scratches that I don't think will come out. Heck...the front bumper hasn't even ever been drilled for a front plate. This car was too good to pass up. Paid 36k plus tax for the car and feel great about the deal. Cannot wait to pick it up on Friday. I've got a million pictures passed on from the current owner but I'll post up my own pictures after I take posession. Andy

Bump and Price Drop. I think that I have found the perfect M3 to purchase and need to get out of the 325. Payoff on the car is 19,100...I will take 19,000 FIRM...21,000 FIRM with mods. KBB private party value on this car is 21,180 in stock form. 19,000 is an absolute steal on a perfect car! Andy [ 28. January 2005, 09:22 AM: Message edited by: AudiOn19s ]

Buck: Many many people use it on cars that are just as ditry as yours...but make sure you use a separate spray bottle to pre-soak the area and you might have to rince multiple times per panel. Generally on dirty panels I wipe with one side of the mit, turn the mit over and wipe with the other side then go straight back to the bucket...essencially only getting about 1/2 panel per rince...but it's still better than a cold ass hose in the winter. If my car is really nasty I'll run to the quarter wash and use the low pressure pre-soak and low pressure rince then go straigt home to the garage to finish up the wash. It's a really good idea to invest in good Microfiber Waffle Weave towels if you're going to be doing this as well. These are my personal favorite: http://www.premiumautocare.com/bigbliimich.html got a couple of these laying around too: http://www.autofiber.com/maximumDryingTowel.html

You're better off going to a quarter car wash and not a touchless. Use presoak and then rince in a quarter wash and stay away from the brush is the safest way to clean your car in the winter if you're not going to wash it by hand. The problem with the touchless washes is that they put some pretty harsh chemicals in the cleaning agents to actually get the car clean so if you've got a good layer of protection on the car (wax or sealant) don't expect it to be there after the chemicals and high pressure rince. Also even with the quarter wash try not to get close to the car at all when spraying with high pressure...but quarter washes and touchless washes recycle water which means you run the risk of getting some pretty "gritty" water sprayed at the car. The best way to do it....2 warm buckets of water and some "Quick and Easy" wash from a company called Protect-All. This can be done in your garage...doesn't make much of a mess and the product is amazing...I couldn't believe what it was capable of until I tried it for myself. I actually now prefer to wash cars with this method before I detail them if they're not too dirty. Here's a link to how to use it. http://www.taurusclub.com/modules.php?name=News&file=print&sid=117 Andy

Thanks man I appreciate the compliments. I will be sad to see her go but I'm sure I'll be OK with it when the M3 is sitting in it's place in the garage.

I have my days with the spoiler...in low light situaitons the splitters sit at just the right angle to reflect a lot of light and can look pretty obnoxious. Here's a profile shot of the car with the front lip that I found...I'm probably not changing your mind though huh? http://photos.e46fanatics.com/data/500/8517Picture_048.jpg
