  1. AudiOn19s

    night of power

I'm assuming this is the Westerville location??? Werid timeframe...but it might make it so that I can attend. Andy
  2. they have a Dynojet...I'm like 99% sure it's a 248X...i could be wrong on the model number but I know it's Dynojet. Andy
  3. Generally this is a VW/Audi deal but there's always a ton of other euro's that show up as well. Details can be found at http://www.autoassets.com. Festivities will consist of a Friday evening at National Trails, then Saturday show at Auto Assets w/ a limited number of cheap dyno pulls as well ($50 for 3 pulls...limited to first 10 entries). Always a good time and they've always got some cool stuff laying around the shop and parking lot for everyone to gawk at. Hell maybe I'll roll my busted ass car up on the rollers and see if she puts 150 to the wheels (pretty sad considering my old bike put 153 to the rear wheel!!!) Andy
  4. Oh...and I'll back up Kevin...Soveran is the best "WAX" I've ever used...for concourse details I'll only use soveran on a freshly prepped surface...it's an absolutely amazing look...BUT just as with most caranuba based natural waxes durability is crap...like 2 weeks crap...so using it on regular custmer cars makes no sense. Zaino has soo many benefits (and it's own cult like following on the 'net) that it's a no brainer to use for the majority of my customer cars. Andy
  5. Ben. Havn't used the Z-PC yet as I'm pretty hooked on Poorboys Polishes. I really like them because they're user friendly, and can be used in the sun if I get caught in a compromising situation where no shade is availabe,...and I've got 4 differing strengths to be as agressive or gentile as I need to be with the paint while using the buffer. Mithesaint: Sorry to hear about your experience with ScratchX. For spot fixes at the enthusiest level I feel it's a great product but the one thing you have to realize is that if you see a scratch in the paint and can feel it...it's not going to disappear...the most you can hope for is to knock down the edges to disguise it and make it less apparent. Andy
  6. Couldn't have said it better myself... Glad to see more people finding out the benefits of Microfiber...now if you really want to be blown away...get some "good" microfiber towels. You think you're amazed with those you got at Autozone...go order some ultra's and ultra-plush towels from http://www.pakshak.com , the most amazing stuff i've used to date. If you're serious about ordering from pakshak call Ranny (the owner) and tell him your an Autopian member and he'll cut you a good price break. Andy
  7. Not a big fan of pressure washing a motor...but a big fan of having a clean motor..soak it in simple green or degreaser...let it sit for 5 mintues...aggitate with an old wheel brush or something...then rince with low pressure stream..I just take the end off of the hose and let the water run over the engine. just too many risks involved with excessive pressure around an engine if you ask me...
  8. All CR members get 10% off of Deluxe or Ultimate details + Free Engine Detial for the entire month of August. Please just mention you're a CR member for this deal. Visit http://www.andyzainodetail.com for more information on pricing and services. Andy
  9. Got ya...i wasn't even thining about the body mods...i was just thinking power mods...
  10. Ehhh...they kinda did...you're correct they're not all factory RS-4 parts...but it's essencially the same deal, better in my opinion. This particular client opted for the upgraded intercoolers too which was a wise move...430 is actually the number that the manufacturer of the kit claims...and the car's doing this on 20psi not 24. I don't much care for the styling on the car though...but that's all personal taste..I like what's been done to the powertrain though!!! Andy
  11. WERD...now go get the "X-CHIP"...and enjoy some BOOST!...
  12. Best of luck on finding one...and give me a holla if you need any help in modding it...I've done all the installs on my car myself except the shifter which was already in there when i bought it. Andy
  13. Take it back to where you bought it and advise that the car does not feel to be performing up to specifications for that model and you'd like to have it checked out and see if they'll cover it since you just purchased it there...they should give you an honest evaluation if anything is wrong but then again they should have done that before they put it on the lot as well. Do you mind me asking where you bought it? I know a tech up at Byers that might be able to help out in insuring an honest opinion if that's where you bought it. If you know anyone with a G-tech pro that you might be able to borrow in order to give yourself some insight on the current performance on the car that could be a way of doing some more evaluation yourself as well. If that doesn't work out Auto Assets is an option as they do pleanty of work on the cars...but having to pay someone to tell you your car is fine is never the greatest feeling in the world either....but I'd trust their opinion on the car more than anyone else in the area...they truely do top notch work. If you want to come up to the Polaris area one night and put it on the g-tech I've got the old school unit but it should give you a good idea of where the car standa performance wise if all else fails. Andy
  14. Trouble Maker...could we be looking past the obvious here...the one thing that I keep thinking and havn't posted yet...is that he could have a pair of worn out diverter valves causing boost leak and poor perforamnce yet no CEL. the first thing I did on my 1.8t was change the diverter valve when I picked it up at 60K miles and it made a noticeable difference???...then again..you'd probably hear the boost leak???...just doesn't make sense.
  15. I'm not even gonna try to dispell the stereotype...because unfortunatly I've found it to be true...BUT I actually find that it's more true in people driving regular 5 and 7 series cars than the true enthusiests driving M series cars....but there still are some Jems in the bunch of M drivers as well. I tried soo hard to imagine that it wasn't the case...but just last week I pulled up to a guy in a dead stock M3 at a stop light...didn't rev...didn't do anything...just looked over and said "Nice Car Man" to which I got a stare then he pulled off??? WTF dude??? 100 RWHP....if you've got any specific M3 questions feel free to e-mail me: kutscha@nationwide.com or for info you may be looking for start looking at the forums over at m3forum.net
  16. Hummm...it should be a low to mid 14 second car so if it doesn't feel that quick then I'd have it checked out. My one impression from being in a stock S4 is that it seems like it just starts to build boost and go when the boost tapers off just when you think that it should continue to build....of course a simple chip will fix all of those problems. The Stock K03's if treated well will last for a long time...but too often S4 owners will shut the car off hot and even worse drive the car under boost before the oil has come up to temperature which will kill turbo life. My k03 in my A4 has lasted 125k miles and my car has been chipped approx. half of those miles...but it is common for turbo's to go in that 70-90K range...but it would be pretty darn loud telling you there's a problem...and you'd probably see smoke and oil consumption too. If he's got a dealer warranty have it checked out...otherwise I'd suggest giving Auto Assets a call...they know their stuff when it comes to the VAG cars. They just did an RS-K04 conversion on a B5 S4 that's a pretty nuts machine now. Andy
  17. I say go for it...I'm more in love with my E46 M3 every time I drive it. Skip on the SMG and you'll be good. As for reliability???...my car is an '02 with 34K miles on it and besides little stuff that's all been covered under warranty I've got no major issues with the car. What to look for???...well almost all of the cars through the build year of '03 required the rod bearing recall to be done. This was to combat oil starvation to one of the rod bearings in high G situations like track days. Once the recall is done you recieve a 6yr 100K mile engine warranty. Only catch is you are required to run Castrol 10W 60 motorsport oil to stay within the warranty which is $17 per quart at the dealer...you can find it online for like $9 per quart. For me buying my car used this was a huge plus. I've got 6 mor months of factory warranty on the rest of the car but peace of mind knowing I've got 2 years more on the engine if anything ever is to happen to it. Some ownerse see this as a negative...I saw it as a positive as I'm not exactly easy on mine and an extra 2 years worth of warranty on a car that turns 8000 rpm on a regular bases just made sense to me My car does a few track days per year...some autocross here and there and is drivn Moderately hard on the road...I don't abuse it...but I don't drive it easy either. The one weakness of the car and something you should check out if your buying one used is the rear sub frame and rear shock mounts. If abused (donuts, excessive burnouts with wheel hop, ect) the rear sub frame assembly has been know to crack. Driving the car hard will not cause this...abusing it will. So have the rear sub frame carefully checked befor purchasing if you buy one used. The only real updates to the car were in 03.5 when BMW changed to the LED tail lamps and made a couple other option changes...on the outside you cannot visually tell a late car from an early car other than the tails. I did a retrofit on the factory LED tails on my car because I liked the updated look. If you'd like to pick my braing more about the car shoot me an e-mail @ kutscha@nationwide.com Andy http://www.m3forum.net/gallery/data/522/33049done1.jpg http://www.m3forum.net/gallery/data/522/33049done4.jpg http://www.m3forum.net/gallery/data/522/33049done7.jpg
  18. nah...only needs one filter...and they don't tend to do anything for the Audi cars other than provide a lifetime filter that doesn't need to be replaced. I just looked up the specs on the GIAC...60hp and it retails for $595.... Downpipes are good for another 20 hp or so...but they're hella expensive and like anything on the S4...a major pain to install.
  19. Not sure that Auto Assets is still doing the REVO stuff...but they might be for Audi. I think the GIAC stuff for the S4 is priced right with everytone else in the $500 range...but it's the best bang for the buck on that car.
  20. audi uses a diverter valve and diverts the air back into the intake tract and their programming is set to think that the air is there for proper air/fule ratio...when you put on a BOV and vent to the environment the car will run rich every time the BOV vents any air. Crappy description I know...but that's the just of it. Andy
  21. GIAC x-chip baby...wait a minute...what year...is it the newer V8 or the older V6 turob? If it's a turbo car a chip will yield the best bang for the buck...GIAC's x-chip is the most agressive one one market...but if he's always heavy on the pedal he'll greatly reduce the life of his factory K03's. GIAC offers a more subtle program as well but GIAC and APR tend to be the industry leaders when it comes to quality products with great technical backing. Auto Assets in Powel is an authorized GIAC dealer and in many cases they can use GIAC's new flash loader technology and literally have you chipped and back on the road in just 1 hour. Give Matt up there a call and tell him the detailer sent you. Andy
  22. Yeah...Chip's car...it's the fastest 1.8t...errr. 2.0L that I've ever been in. BAM...I'm not sure we're talking about the same black car unless that's an old picture of it. That car doesn't appear to have tint...the one I saw had at least 50%...more likely 35%. car pictured doesn't looked to be dropped, the one I saw was def. dropped, also the one I saw did not have those wheels...could have had the wheels from the silver car but I never got a good look at them...I do know they weren't the ones pictured though. Looks like the black car pictured has projectors...the one that was messing with me def. did not have projectors rather some super white bulbs of some sort that reflected a distinctive blue in the factory housing. I'm pretty certain the car I saw had a red Neuspeed sticker on the lower front of the quarter glass. Probably a different car...one thing everyone seems to know in this thread...GOLDIE!!!
  23. Yeah...goldie is down right now...but when she's up she's a runnin' fool. Andy
  24. I agree the car is lookin good...the only thing I don't care for is that polished front mount...get that thing coated black and some 19's on it and you're good to go. I'm sure the smaller wheels and tires are an indicator of his performance aspirations for the car though. Andy
  25. It's not what it runs in the quarter that's important...you want lap times from Mid Ohio? Seriously though...I've never had it to the drag strip...with the 19's and heavy ass tires 13.4 is a realistic guess. Origional owner ran 13.1 with 18's and in good air but the car has since had the dreaded rod bearing recall done wich kills about 5-10hp mainly due to running 60 weight oil. What's upstream of that Front mount.. KO4??? GT 28??? if he's thinking of a turbo upgrade I can probably get him a ride in a wicked quick GT 28 powered A4. Andy
