'04 Mercedes E55 -Silver / Black -61k miles -NAV -Heated Seats -Cooled Seats -Dynamic Seats (massage and active side bolsters) -Keyless Go (push button) -Xenon's -HK sound -Park Distance monitors I'm sure there are a couple other options I'm missing. Mods: -RennTech R1 performance package (Pulley, ECU Tune upgraded intercooler pump) 514hp / 566 lb/ft http://www.renntechmercedes.com/www/node/302 K&N filters Lowered using lowering links. clear side markers flat hood badge 35% tint Never been drilled for front plate, have the OEM front plate holder in trunk if desired Background: Car has had rubber mats down the whole time during both our ownership and the owner before us (retired pilot out of Atlanta), carpets are perfect. Great condition overall. I've run it at a couple of the track rentals, runs mid 12's completely heat soaked. Good: I have brand new front rotors and brand new pads all the way around to be installed before purchase. Car gets oil changes ever 5k with Amsoil. oil was JUST changed at 61k miles and is fresh. Bad: Stock wheels are chrome, were pitted when I got them and continue to pit even worse. They are only used as winter wheels currently. Brand new all season rears on them, couple season old snows on the front I have a set of Forgestar 20" F10 wheels that will go with the car. 20x 9, 20 x 10.5 running 245 / 285 rubber. The wheels are amazing looking but are cracked and in need of repair. I honestly would not put them back on the car. I believe the load rating on the wheels is not high enough causing them to crack. I am not planning on putting them back on this spring if I kept the car I was going to get another set of summer wheels / tires. $23,500 http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/040.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/039.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/010.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/092.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/106.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/094.jpg Will get some interior pictures soon. It has the AMG black wood trim not standard wood Andy

I thought the tranny fluid I use at $30/ quart was expensive. What on earth justifies a tranny fluid that costs $80/ quart?

While its not preferred PCA will go up to nearly 40 cars in a run group at mid ohio. 20-25 is ideal if you ask me. Places like Nelson I'd like to see 20 or less. I think with capping entries at 75 for June they can run 3 groups of 25 with no issues at all.
-
Agreed but not too much more. Only cars actually trading hands above 50 are factory x50 low mile cars. Trying to talk my wife into ditching the E55 in favor of one for her nice weather car.

+1. Dude is a trip. We did an advanced instructors day with PCA and he taught the classroom. I got more great quotes in one day than you can imagine. Then after the track went cold we had a keg and pizza and he got even more entertaining. My favorite quote: Instructor: "tommy, would you run a different line through there if you were in a momentum car like a miata?" Tommy: "momentum car....all cars are fucking momentum cars. Just run the right line" Another time that day I was riding with him in the TSX and someone in a high power car passed us then proceeded to do everything wrong from there (an instructor mind you). He laid on the horn and flashed the lights and gestured at the guy for like a whole lap he was Sooooo pissed at the guys driving. Classic Tommy!

Nice to have these sort of people living in your neighborhood. She lives across the street from us. Something not noted in that video is she's stupid fit. Cross fit trainer training for national competition currently. No doubt had it been my fat ass that fell through I might not have had the same success with getting back out. http://www.nbc4i.com/story/21253558/woman-saves-dog-that-fell-into-icy-pond

Motul 600 is WAY better than blue. Perfect test mule was my old M3. Heavy ass car used at the track with agressive pads and not enough brake cooling. I'd have to bleed blue after every single day. Couldn't even make it through a 2 day event without getting air in the system. Switched to Motul 600 and was able to extend that to 2 days before needing a bleed. The new 660 is nice but in my opinion only needed in really extreme situations. I can run 600 in the GT3 for damn near the whole season with just an occasional bleed here and there.

I had a student recently who did this with his GT3 and all of his track expenses associated with the car. started a "Racing" company and basically wrote off all of his track expenses that way. Quick Google search of this guy shows he was found guilty of fraud and other various things related to shady business practices with his construction company so I pretty much instantly decided to discard anything he ever told me.

If you are not in novice group with my wife I'd be glad to jump in with you.
-
Correct. I like Club course better and think the 2-3 complex in that configuration sets the men apart from the boys...but it's always fun to mix it up and run pro course too.

I told myself like 5 years ago my Audi only had a few more years of service in it...................... just clicked 211k this morning on the way to work.

Sink or swim it's time for her to learn to drive a car with the motor in the wrong place.
-
GEEEEEEEE TEEEEEEE THREEEEEE
-
To be honest she'll be in the beginner group and she is going to be pretty slow. She's not done a track day since before she got sick in '09. ...but in the spirit of good fun I'll make sure to fire up iRacing and get her some virtual training before we get out there.
-
Deposit in for the wifey. No pressure but you guys don't want to get passed by a girl out there so practice up.
-
confirmed earlier passengers allowed for Intermediate and Advanced groups, and on approval basis in beginner group.
-
mod nothing, do more track days.
-
I just want to make sure it's not a half day rental as I know they have been doing more and more of that where around 2-3 p.m. another group comes in for and takes over. p.s. I'll spam the boards I frequent with this I just need to have more complete details.
-
I sent you an e-mail before I saw this thread...figured I'd just ask here. Format for the day? Number of groups? Amount of track time? Length of the day? Thanks, Andy

Welcome, nice selection of cars you have there.

Come on now, give the thing a little love. An '03 3.6L car was 320 hp, under 3100lbs and would run the quarter right around 13 flat. Not saying a high mileage example that was base as base can be would get my money...but I'm just sayin'

I guess I could have taken pictures if you guys wanted to see an clean door, fender and hood then an otherwise dirty car NO MORE SNOW!
