Bump for price drop
-
Brian. Call me Monday if you still need some.
-
$18K was the final price. That's what the owner wanted but I'm sure he wanted that after auction fees and not before. I think after it sat in the showroom here for 2 years with no movement he was willing to settle for a bit less. I guess that's not horrible for a T-type (non Grand National) unless the market has continued to climb on them lately. It was a nice car. 26K miles, all stock. But the top surfaces of the car had been re-painted and you could tell. Andy

They were clearly out-gunned at the end of the year and barely hung on to take the series. The straight line advantage of the 'vette and M3 was pretty obvious. I think the bump in displacement is what they needed to keep things competative. The question is...will Lizzards be the only ones fielding them this year with the Farnbacher Loles debacle.

I kinda got a kick out of seeing my work on Live TV. I spent 10-11 hours on the exterior of this T-type last week before it was shipped down to Florida to be run across the block on Live TV. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/photo2.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/photo1.jpg Andy

This makes me tingle inside...and makes me miss my old car too

(2) 245/40/18 approx 70-75% left $225 (2) 265/35/18 approx 40% left - $175 ...or $350 for all of them if you take them as a set. Amazing tires. Quiet, lots of grip, great ride. Took these off the E55 after less than 5K miles of use. Mounted snows on the OEM wheels and I'm looking to upgrade wheels in the spring so these won't likely go back on the car. One of the rears has a plug that has been there since they had about 1000 miles on them with no issues. Andy

Late to the party here. http://www.rennlist.com has the best Porsche forums on the net. Anything and everything you need / want to know can be found there. I'm not too up to speed on the air cooled cars to help out any more than what others have already stated. What I really like best about the late 70's to mid 80's 911's is the fact that you can easily convert the shell to any number of configurations of great cars. Late 70's IROC, RS, RSR replicas, etc. The shell's the same all you need is body panels and accessories. If you like the slant nose cars as it was already stated Auto Assets has a black slantnose turbo cab on their showroom with the same Ruf wheels pictured on the silver car in the original post. Andy

My .02....Keep it. Just my personal views but I get attached to cars and hate to see them go. I regret selling just about every car I've ever sold. 996 was the first car i've sold in 7 years and if it wasn't for the situation we were placed in this past year I would have never considered selling it either. Plus you have pleanty of storage space now. I say it's got more sentimental value than the number you'll get out of it and you'll regret the sale down the road. Memories are priceless and if it doesn't need to go I say tuck it away in the corner of the garage and take it out just enough to put a smile on your face thinking of the good 'ol days. Andy

Has to be reported and ODOT has to have been given sufficient time to repair it as well. There's no standard definition for sufficient time to repair though. Then if you wish to file a claim you have to pay ODOT $25 to investigate and then 4-6 weeks later you'll get a verdict on if they'll pay or not. ...My wife hit a pot hole in the E55 last week and bent a tie rod end and the wheel slightly. I'm not holding my breath on seeing a dime of the money it cost me to repair the car.

Yes, my wife's daily driver (E55) The M3 is close (292) but no cigar

I wouldn't say I'm done spending money to make my cars "better", but I'm def. past the need to try to make cars the fastest thing on the road, or even the fastest version of what I have. I learned along time ago to either accept what you've got power wise or buy something else as big increases in power to an existing platform only equals headaches and constant tinkering. Just not my bag anymore I'll still spend money on suspension, tires, brakes and reliability items (cooling) to make them good on a road course, and cosmetic things for them to look the way I wish on the street but that's about it. John, good to see you posting again. This board needs your humor. Andy

There's a great garage thread on Luxury 4-play that most of those came from. I'll see if I can dig up the thread as it's pretty impressive. **edit...here it is** http://www.luxury4play.com/automotive/36568-worlds-most-beautiful-garages-exotics-insane-garage-picture-thread-50-pics.html

PCA 2-day DE was $255 this year. I'd be open for anything...I'm itching to get to the track after taking the year off...and selling my track car...and all the track stuff for my M3. gonna have to take the A4

Could we then edit in Ferrari engine noises even though it's not taped with a ferrari? I like the idea...have thrown around doing the downtown course backwards but being right there by the police station takes alot of fun out of it. We need to find a more rural one.

Look into a teacher of the Suzuki method for someone that young. As opposed to the traditional method, in Suzuki you're tought to play first then read as you develop your skills. Much like we learn to speak before we read. It's much easier for a 3 year old to pick up that way.

I love the retro look, but fully expect it to be just as boring to drive as the rest of their line.

That is kick-ass.

Watches are a funny mix of personal expression and making a statement at the same time. You really can't go wrong with any of the major players in the market. There are some great pieces from companies like Corum, JLC, IWC, Bell & Ross, etc that get very little recognition but are great departures from the norm. Like any other luxury item it's very rare that any of them are going to be a good investment so go with what speaks to you and wear the piss out of it. Buying a Patek to sit in the watch box hoping it appreciates in value is not my idea of enjoying a watch...not to mention I'm not a fan of their designs anyhow.

Doc, I think it's pretty cool and would fit right in with your collection. As for the ordeal with Red, I've never been a big fan of red cars. While I feel it's right at home on a few of them it's never been my deal. That said, my wife put her foot down when we bought the Porsche and insisted on red and at the same time the perfect car came onto the market in red. While I grew to appreciate the color in certain settings I still was never completely sold on it. Everytime I wanted to drive like a hooligan I was always looking over my shoulder knowing how much the car stood out in that color. Now that it's gone I kinda miss it's flashy nature even if it's completely not me. I think you'll enjoy it just fine in red. Andy

Become a Caddy. ...seriously. When I played golf in high school I carried bag at quite a few places just so that I could get access to the course on Mondays. I carried a few times at The Golf Club but at that point I was also interested in making money and there wasn't much regular business out there with so few members.

There was a full fledged SCCA min-truck road racing series in the late 80's. Only lasted a couple of years. I did a quick google search and found very little though. Mostly stuff on the Fords and Jeeps that ran back then.

I really dig this combo. IWC Big pilot inspired with a swan-neck 6497 hand wind movement in it.
