  1. Track bits removed to restore street manors. Stock sport shocks and H&R springs back on the car this week. Price Drop: $24,000 Andy
  2. I'm not that fond of the exterior design...but have seen some pictures with bigger wheels / tires and it looks pretty OK. However, as I understand it the car is brilliant in function.
  3. WE used to run 104 all the time. Lots of spaces out there.
  4. No Needs a good home. I'm trying to source stock springs to put the stock suspension back on the car. I think I'm limiting my audience with such a track focused setup under the car.
  5. I think that's just the factory covers over the lights.
  6. Thanks for the kind words Ben. It was my pleasure. Enjoy. Andy
  7. p.s. I only have a 780p set and can tell the difference. I'm guessing it'd be much more drastic on a 1080p set.
  8. It's my own fault for not being better informed as a consumer. The whole Fiber deal just rang a bell in my head that it's be a clean / fast signal. I should have researched as when I look around it seems like a common issue due to the compression techniques they use. I also told them what service I had when they were comparing rates and it looks like the goal was to quote me a lower price to gain my business...not to actually serve my best interest. Again, I should have been better informed up front. I actually quite like the cable interface, and it sure does perform well as far as lag times goes, but I'm a stickler for details and the lack of picture quality could be a deal breaker for me. Might be shopping again soon for a new carrier
  9. Is your HD picture quality less than Stellar? We'vd had Insight for several years. The roadrunner service is great, the Channel selection is outstanding, HD picture quality was as good as I've seen. However I had my gripes. The HD box had horrible lag times and would sometimes completely freeze up for 30+ seconds when you tried to change channels. The limited recording space and ability to only really record one other program unless you're not watching TV at all bothered me. So we switched to U-Verse when we switched our cellular carrier to AT&T due to the good things I had heard about the fiber optic network, ability to record 4 programs to DVR at the same time, etc. The service isn't bad despite the fact that I need to choose a different rate for the high speed internet cause it's slow. However I swear the HD picture quality sucks. Not as crisp as Insight and it's the biggest bother since I really only watch HD TV stations. I double checked all the setup and it's all done right through the HDMI cable. Anyone else have the same issue? Andy
  10. compared to the no coverage we've otherwise had it was OK. Could have been better though.
  11. Sorry to hear man. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
  12. As a follow up. We went and shopped and compared last night. The Verizon WinMo devices were much nicer than I expected them to be. I particularly liked the HTC Touch Pro2. I really think that being a Techy that I would have had alot of fun with the WinMo machines and spent quite a bit of time dicking around with them. However, my wife was the driving force behind the update / switch and the iPhone was soo much more user friendly and intuative for her that it was the clear winner hands down. We've been toying around with switching our cable and internet to AT&T for some time too based on their offerings and price and with the current promotions to switch everything our services came out to about a wash when you put everything together. So I ended up with a 3GS iPhone. Ironically at one point today I already had a service issue and had to reboot the phone to get service back. Dunno what happened there. I'd be interested in some of the jailbreak technology....but my phone is loaded with OS 3.1 already. Looks like nobody has the hack figured out for the 3.1 system just yet. Andy
  13. I'm stuck on the "Ice Cream Paintjob" song right now!
  14. !!!. Riverside has been a second home to me since April. Wife was in there for 4 days straight last week with a MRSA infection The whole time I kept thinking how nice it would be to not have to lug my laptop down there to check the web and e-mail. Maybe not though.
  15. So...to the iPhone people, how annoying is the shitty AT&T service. Really my desire to move to a more capable phone is data and apps more than alot of the integrated technology for business (despite being in the IT field.). I think it makes more sense to go with the apple from that standpoint. Other than detailing stuff which I do all through web based mail I tend to like being able to leave work behind when I'm not there. Andy
  16. Wondering if some of you could shed some light on the difference in apps between the two. Using my phone currently for nothing but making calls but interested in catching up with the world and either moving to an iphone or pocket PC. I was under the impression that Iphone apps are everywhere, available for everything and either cheap or free in most cases. However as I start searching around it looks like most of the same apps are available for a Pocket PC based phone as well. Particularly the one or two that I'd be most interested in. And in many cases there's free sources for them. So are the apps THAT much better on the iphone? From what I've seen the rest of the services are comparable and one thing that's important to me is performance as a PHONE first where it seems like staying with Verizon and getting a pocket PC might just be best for me in the long run. Too many of my close friends that are huge iPhone advocates will openly admit the service still very much sucks. The allure of the iphone is strong though. Thoughts?
  17. Bob. Great piece you got there. Enjoy it and wear it with pride. +1 on your Rolex comments...with the exception being a Daytona. Daytona is like the holy grail watch for me. I will own one one day. I think it's Motorsports heritage is part of the draw. Nothing else they make does anything for me. Andy
  18. +1 on the booze in your luggage. You generally get Lemonade and iced tea free on the boats so vodka is always a good mixer. Or rum. You can buy an unlimited soda package for not THAT much money and mix rum / coke too. and a big +1 on bringing booze back. I got a bottle of Johnny Blue for $110, Chivas Royal Salute for $90 and they practically threw in a bottle of Johnny Swing at like $25. Andy

    BMW Guys?

IDK...I'd have to look it up again. They used to follow that but strayed somewhere. Maybe it's just the 07+ cars that are all 2.5's again.

    BMW Guys?

The 330's from 01-06 yes IIRC However, the old 323's and 328's were all 2.5L All the new 07+ cars are 2.5L too. ....go figure

    BMW Guys?

    1) Same base motor they've been using since like 1988. Solid performer and will go forever if maintained properly They finally moved to an updated design in '07....still 2.5 L 2) Not as long as you've got maintenance history. The big killer was BMW suggested 15K mile oil change intervals to reduce their costs since they cover all maintenance on the car while it's under factory warranty including oil changes. If someone was dumb enough to follow that logic and only change every 15K that car has only had 8 oil changes in over 9 years. 3) Water pump and belts replaced? I think they revised the radiator end tank design for all of the E46 cars but this was an issue on E36 cars quite frequently. Control arm bushings, particularly the front "Lollipop" will all likely need replaced at that mileage if they have not already been done. They're failry cheap for the whole lot of them though (bimmerworld.com). 4) '00 330?...weren't they still 323's and 328's in '00? Maybe I'm wrong but didn't think the 325 / 330's started until '01. Something in the $7-11K range seems about right for a good example.
  22. If you can get the rust out of the chip it's best. Most light polishes are enough to get the surface stuff cleaned out of a chip like this. Still not easy to work with such a small area. Then wipe with alcohol and put touch up paint in chip. ...then wetsand blob and polish the whole area if you want to really do it correctly. Andy
