I took it as an offensive move, not defensive. Seemed like "I'll teach you not to fuck with me." as opposed to "Oh my gosh, 2v1 they might kick my ass. I better grab something to protect myself." everything is speculation at this point, it could have gone several ways but it didnt...it is what it is

i understand what youre saying....but there are other ways the locals can pursue the problem rather than trying to hurt the riders....but it only takes that one crazy person who has reached their limit to start causing people to lose their lives....that guy in the truck could have killed several people in just the 5 minute chase he had with the bikes

Next time youre stopped by a police officer, reach behind your seat, grab a tire iron, get out of the car and brandish it at the officer....i would say you will get tazed. he doesnt have to swing it for it to be a weapon

Did you expect him to run forever? The truck wasn't giving up, even after 5 minutes of chasing the guy. Second bike was following his friend to make sure he was alright. I realize that running over the bike isnt anything they could use deadly force for - my comment about the truck being used as a weapon was when the driver tried to murder the rider using his truck. The guy was clearly not leaving without a confrontation of some sort - to say that the bikers are to blame for provoking and escalating the situation is absurd.

i agree. i was just commenting that IF they had pulled a gun and immediately fired when he came out of the truck with the tire iron, they would have had a good fighting chance in court. the guy already showed that he was not afraid to kill the front rider. but i do see the point where it was 2 on 1, which might be the only thing that would trip them up in court, i didnt consider the second guy being there

i would say they made a reasonable attempt to flee the situation and it didnt work. they pulled over and the guy tried to run over the one guys bike...after pushing it out of the way, both parties had words and then the guy went into his truck and grabbed a weapon...at that point, i think they would have been justified to shoot him...im no lawyer, but i dont see it going differently than that....if they had just jumped off the bikes and shot him, that wouldnt fly...but once he grabbed that weapon (although the argument could be made that the truck was a weapon too), game on. i would say if they had stopped on the spot it would be worse because they did nothing to try and escape the confrontation

rescues have some type of overhead costs, even being non-profit. theres a difference in rescuing a dog from a shelter and having to pay adoption fees compared to purchasing a dog from an owner that no longer wants it

My girl has been wanting a husky for awhile, and they have 5 acres she could roam around in with their horse and goats. I will run it past them to see if they are interested, but theres no way I would pay you for it. You don't "sell" it. Sounds to me like you are a little short on money and tired of having the responsibility at home, so you figure if you try to sell her you can come out on top. People who genuinely fall on hard times and cant support their animals anymore, usually offer them up for adoption to a good home, they dont try to sell them like used furniture.
