Because on the ZX-10 the race exhaust cam is actually smaller and you lose HP if installed. The race kit calls for alot more than just cams. Head gasket is a .45m instead of a .65 to bump the compression. Would like to do springs and retainers since the zx-10 is also known to shatter retainers.

I looked it doing this myself, but it seems a bit much for me. Any mechanical types out there that would know how to do this?

It's a pretty common thing to do. I have seen it many times. Most say to keep it due to the lack of low end you will have after.

back up and make sure the decals are not clear coated on. My fairing decals were not but the bank decal is.

That's a stunt rider move. Stunters can do some amazing stuff.

I'll run these and see how they do....If they crack I do just that.

Ok so here is my initial review. The attempt to clone OEM fairings I give a C-. Do they totally suck....no. Are they good...no. The outer shell seems ok. The paint is shiny with only a few blemishes on the outside. The outside pre-drilled holes were almost perfect with the exception of the shoulder type screw holes which I just drilled larger. The inside of the fairings suck. The bracket mounts are either misplaced or non-existent. The brackets for the tail light were even welded in backwards (angled 180 out). The mount for the brackets on the upper fairings and the bracket for the back seat release were not even there. That said I found ways around each. The bottom fairing does not match up at all, but who is laying on their back looking under the bike. All in all I think they would make good track/street plastics but show plastics by any means. Here are some pics. Not sure when I will get my tank painted.

I will...I hate fairings they take forever to put on.

I ordered a new set of fairings but they came in the wrong color. I guess Magma Red and pictures mean something different in China. Anyways I have all pieces but the tank. I called a few vinyl companies but they said they can not cost effectively color match the color. Any ideas? The fairings look pretty cool though.

Anyone know anyone in columbus that could cut an inch out of the side stand and reweld the foot back on?

Kaws are cool, but they haven't figured out the handling deal as of yet. Very tough handling bikes compared to the others...

I'm with ya on the handling deal. I stay back in the 04/05 bikes which was about where my budget fits. I won't finance a toy....toys are made to be paid for in cash.

Well even though you won't be buying a bike soon I look at it like this. The honda's handle sweet usually a little heavier but are usually the highest price. GSXR's have the rep of being the fastest, but we all know the rider is what makes the bike. R-1's are are fun but I think just under the fun factor of the old Kawi. I have found the cheapest ones to be Kawi and seem to have the most pep for the buck. My vote is for an 04/05 ZX-10R. You can get an 04/05 for around 5-6k depending on MODS.

I love my mods the Nitrous, DJ Hub, MPS Quick shifter and Steering Damper are all portable from bike to bike. So whenever I get a 1000 guess what it will have LOL.

Well yea found a nitrous kit on craigslist for $100 so I put it on. LOL so yea a slight mod....it was the really loud green one that was there.
