  1. I rode WV 250 from Moundsville to Hundred last week. When in good shape that is a great stretch of road. Unfortunately, it's in awful shape right now and should be avoided until it gets repaved. WV7 from Hundred to New Martinsville, is in decent shape. That's as far as I've made it into WV this season.
  2. Another thing to consider is resale value, which only matters if you plan to sell it some day. I'll bet you a dollar it'll be worth less with the 180 conversion than it would be stock.
  3. Agreed. It will feel less 'flickable' with a 180, which is probably the best thing about the SV650.
  4. I am am leaning... 1st choice CTX700 - Kind of scooter/cruiser hybrid. I'll bet you can buy them deeply discounted. 2nd 400-600cc scootor. Who knows, it could even be fun. 3rd some crappy cruiser that isn't super heavy & with reasonable ground clearance. M50, 883R, Shadow Phantom, etc.
  5. Mixed driving. My previous vehicle was a Trailblazer, I like the Flex 10 times better.
  6. Not exactly an SUV, but I really like my Ford Flex Limited. MPG is 23ish and it has as much room inside as an Expedition. I bought it out of necessity as a kid hauler, but it's my favorite 4 wheeled vehicle to date.
  7. I've never owned one, but I am not totally opposed to something like a Burgman or a Silverwing.
  8. I actually used to have a Z750S. She is 5' 2" and wasn't interested in trying to ride that one. An FZ6 might be an option, and it has FI.
  9. That's closer to what I am thinking. I might even start looking at 600cc scooters.
  10. I'll probably own a Ninja 1000 or a FJR eventually, but now I am looking for something smaller that would be less intimidating for a newer rider.
  11. I've even thought about one of these with a backrest
  12. This is pretty much where I'm at. I could always find something like a V Star 650 or one of the smaller Honda Shadows. I would imagine they could handle highway speeds two up. She won't want to go fast anyway. Not sure I want to open my garage to see a cruiser sitting in there every day Also, I can't stand the look of chrome, and refuse to spend time cleaning or polishing it.
  13. What are some ideas for a good two up bike? I'm trying to get the GF back into going on rides, so passenger comfort is high on the list. Two up spirited rides are probably not on the menu. I don't think we'll be spending more than 2 hour on the bike. Something lightweight that she could ride solo once in a while would be a bonus. I just can't bend my mind around buying a cruiser or cruiser gear. I am not crazy about the CTX700, but it does meet most of my criteria...what are some better ideas?
  14. not sure. Maybe you'd have to cut it down.
  15. I am not suggesting using a battery powered motor to charge the batteries. If a 25lb, compact, gas generator could be designed that ran for say 60-90 minutes on 1/2 gallon of gas. It might make an electric motorcycle seem like a more viable transportation option. When I think of completely electric vehicles, I think of being stranded on the side of the road with no power.
  16. Seems like there would need to be some kind of practical application for a small on board generator that could at least get you home if you ran out of electrons. What is the lightest, smallest generator that would have enough power to run the motor (with partial power) or recharge the batteries?
  17. I was diagnosed with Ulnar Tunnel in both hands about 10 years ago which is sort of similar. It causes wrist pain and numbness in the ring and pinky fingers. Stretching out my wrists helped a lot. I used to sleep in wrist braces that keep the wrists extended. Even with lots of riding it has gotten better over the years. I still get some numbness when I ride. Riding gloves with gel in the palms seem to help.
  18. What kind of mounting options are available for this cam?
  19. That's because it's obviously a Buell design. That's even a Buell foot peg. I'll bet that bike was sitting in a locked room since 2010, about 90% complete until HD decided to dust it off and add the chrome bottom section and the rear fender.
  20. In Atlanta there have been many reports of people using empty tanks to steal the freon out of AC units.
  21. Pocket carry in a zippered pocket & stays on my person the entire time.

    Corbin Seat

It will help for numbness on longer rides. Corbin has lots of different textures for the seat surface. Tell them you want one of the more grippy surfaces. Oh, and don't order from their website. Call and talk to someone. They gave me some good ideas for customization that I wouldn't have though of. Here is one I had custom made. After about 30,000 miles, I sold it on ebay for about $50 less than I originally paid (after I sold the bike).

    Corbin Seat

I like Corbins. I've had 3 of them. I find them to be very comfortable for distance riding. If you get a Corbin, order it directly from them. Not a dealer. They will customize if free of charge, with different materials, color, height, etc.
