  1. I think the cameras do a great job of filtering money out of people's pockets, and creating a ticket that side steps due process I think the safety claims only occur in the sales meeting between the camera company and the local jurisdiction...you know just before they get into the real conversation about revenue.
  2. I like thesmall, quick access, keypad safes. Big safes are for storage.
  3. Last I read, the cameras operating in Cleveland were run by a company from another state, I believe it was N Carolina. The breakdown was something like 70% went to the camera company, and the rest went to city. So the city gets 30% for doing nothing. They know they will get voted away eventually, but the longer the trial takes the more free money they get. It's a cash grab that filters money out of the local economy. The other thing I've seen is the language on some ballots to get rid of these cameras was intentionally written to be confusing..."Vote YES if you don't want the cameras to not be removed," or something like that
  4. Steph/Ryan, Do you need a tech rider to give feedback on the suspension setup
  5. Comments I've seen on the appearance so far have been lukewarm. My thoughts: I am not sure the high RX tail section works visually on a naked bike. Leaving the coolant overflow out in the open looks kind of sloppy. I am not crazy about the head light or fly screen. I would prefer more sexy styling for $15-18k or whatever MSRP is going to be. Performance wise it should be in the same league as KTM 1290, S1000R, V4 Tuono, etc.
  6. It looks to be about 90% the same as the 1190RX. Thoughts? http://www.motorcycledaily.com/2014/06/ebr-unveils-naked-1190sx-at-indy-press-event/
  7. A cheap torque wrench is better than no torque wrench. Lots of cheap ones are accurate within a few % points.
  8. I always use torque wrenches on motorycles. Not so much on cars. Motorcycles use lots of light weight materials that can be prone to damage from over tightening.
  9. I could be completely satisfied with 85-90 rwhp on a bike that weighs under 450lbs wet. More is always fun, but it wouldn't make me any faster on a twisty backroad.
  10. I am really curious to hear how the FZ-09 responds to these suspension upgrades.
  11. That would hurt every motorcycle manufacturer. ..well maybe not Harley.

  13. I'd have to call shenanigans on that. If you mean H20, salt would get wet many more times during normal driving than by rinsing it off once in a car wash. Even if you did a half assed wash you would still dilute the salt significantly.
  14. For sale: R6, low miles, some scratches.
  15. It sounds like he's stil in pretty bad shape.
  16. My maintenance was always up to date. Still, keeping the check engine light off was a full time job. Power steering lines, transmission lines etc. all rotted away way too quickly. You could say that was from neglect of not washing off salt in the winter, except that I actually owned a car wash and washed it about 5 times a week during winters.
  17. Agreed. If you don't think a modern 600 SS is blistering fast, you're doing it wrong.
  18. Yep, perfect day for a ride. No cops. No drops. Jim, I thought you were trying to tell me that you just ran out of gas. I got behind, but when you were able to take off I just kept going. I hadn't hit my reserve yet. I made it home, just over 200 miles on that tank of gas. Pretty good range for a CBR.
  19. Leaving in a few. We'll leave MIllersburg at 9. That wil put us in Mcconelsville 10:15ish.
