  1. Not on all of them. For some it's 15k, some are less. I think 1500cc and bigger have hydraulic lifters, so no valve adjustment. Same on the Suzuki C90s. I considered those but decided against them due to weight.
  2. When looking at cruisers I was disappointed to find how short the valve adjustment intervals are on some of them. Yamaha V Star 650 is only 4000 miles isn't an R1 26k or something like that Some Suzukis are 7,500 miles VTX = 8000 miles At least the Vstar 950 is 16,000 miles...another reason I went with that one.
  3. I just lost 130lbs. At least that's what she said she weighed

  6. I decided on something with luggage, good passenger accommodations, FI, and I just won't do spoked wheels. I wanted something capable of touring. The V Star I bought is really clean and the price was right (I can easily sell it and get my money back). It's reasonably fun to ride. I'm trying to see if I can enjoy life in the "slower" lane.
  7. I decided to buy a 2010 Vstar 950 Tourer. Not sure yet if it will keep my interest, but it's worth a try
  8. I had lots of fun on my CBR. My pace on the VFR is just a little slower, but it's just as fun.
  9. Yes, that stretch is super fun and in good shape.
  10. My bike received terrible reviews, which can only mean it's slow and sucky.
  11. Jschaf and I explored WV. We stuck to about 70% of that route. Once we were there, I remembered some other good roads. It was quite a ride. We saw a bear, got detoured by a helicopter, got detoured by roads that were destroyed by that huge flood. We rode through areas that had major devastation from the flood...rivers still had debris in them, construction crews made many piles of debris (furniture, pieces of houses, appliances, personal effects) on the roadside that were as big as houses. Pretty sad actually. I think we must have ridden through a million curves. IIRC we might have broken a couple traffic laws...nah
  12. I will be releasing version 2.0 of these maps after performing extensive research and field testing.
  13. IMO, WV roads are every bit as good as those around Deals Gap they just have a different "character." Roads in the DG area tend to be a bit tighter and more technical (at least the ones I've ridden), while WV is a little more open and flowing so you can go a little faster. Also, there are 20 times more LEOs around DG.
  14. That was the first new motorcycle I ever bought. Sold it with almost 40k on the clock. Needed only gas oil and tires. A young kid bought it and promptly totaled it.
  15. It's been a few years since I've ridden this whole route. So not sure of road conditions. I was riding this the last time I did this entire route.
  16. If you're looking for a 3 day twisty fix, this route is pretty hard to beat. Day 1 Uhrichsville, OH to Harrisonburg, VA Day 2 Harrisonburg, VA to Buckhannon, WV the mountain passes on 33 and 39 are so good you'll want to turn around and ride them again. Day 3 Buckhannon, WV to Uhrichsville, OH Enjoy

Big balls for sure. The guy Kent, Jamie, and I saw on Blood Mountain was at least that fast...more in control too. He was on a sportster, that MUST have had suspension work. Guessing the guy was a local and skilled on a sportbike too.
  18. I was informed by my 7 year old that my motorcycle is "100% cheetah fast."
  19. If i do get one it'll be a slow putter for 2up. Probably some kind of metric bagger with a decent backseat. Im going to look at this over the weekend. https://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/5648549222.html
  20. There's a cruiser in your garage.
