  1. for what it matters, were getting around 12 grand total with tax return and her student loan which all she needs to buy is a couple books. Her car is fine just need the timing belt job still, hours dropped to 20ish at work and we used up the extra we set aside for that on bills. my car needs about $100 to fix which I'm doing the slave and speed sensor this weekend.

Coming from someone that learned the hard way about making stupid financial decisions (racking up almost 30k in CC and other misc debt by the time i was 20). This is a stupid, stupid idea. You will go and spend all your money, come back, be poor and then you will repeat the same vicious cycle over and over again. Not trying to be a dick but from reading this post as well as some of the others you've started on here, you should probably sit down and think this out a little more....

  2. How much oil ya need? Will get you prices in the morning when I'm back in. You need BOTH window motors? How did you pull that off?

Ones completely dead, the others one is on its way. I'd imagine probably 3 quarts not sure what that 8.8 calls for... Two window motors, and a pitman arm, and it needs the rear sliding window replaced. Can't complain too much, picked the truck up for under $2,000 and it's only got 70k miles on it

  3. Lol sounds like me. I've got a whole bunch of parts sitting in the garage waiting to go on, unfortunately my last day off was May 5th and the last thing you want to do after a 12 hour day selling car parts is to get in the garage and get wrenching. Let me know what you need and I'll see what I can do.

    2x window motors, pitman arm, 75w140 gear oil - 97' F150 XLT 4.2L

  4. This guy is spot on.

Especially the BMW's unless its an M or a rare model-they depreciate SO hard you can get a killer deal on a3 or 4 year old car.

Word, I'm still looking into other options I just love the looks of the c300. I'm about 4-5 months out on buying another car since I just invested in the house mod. Luckily my father who has been a mechanic for 40 some years is donating a hefty supply of craftsman tools so maintain whatever vehicle I buy next isnt a huge concern. I don't mind turning my own wrenches. Thanks for the input, going to look into a3/a4s as well

  5. So near winter I'm going to jump head first into my mustang build and now I'm looking for a comfy daily. I've become pretty fond of the 08' and newer Mercedes C300's. Has anyone ever owned one or had any experience with them? Trying to decide if I should stay away or not.

I'm looking for something quiet, slow, awd and comfortable.

  6. Autolite ht1's are 2 piece plugs still. Ford changed the head design mid year 07 to accomodate a smaller one piece 12mm plug but everything 05-07 1/2 still had 2 piece plugs. The only one piece options out there for those motors are brisk or champion.

Yeah I was going to check out the champions but not really too keen on spending that kind of bread for a plugs on a stock motor

  7. I have just sprayed a little pb or wd down in the cylinder to let them soak before attempting to pull them out. Ive had pretty good luck but I know people break them off all the time. Brady up at Pick-ups Plus in lewis center should have Brisk plugs stocked as well, might check a price with him as well

Cool deal, thanks for the info sir

  8. Autolite also makes a replacement plug for that engine. They are the HT1. If you are in the north end of Columbus feel free to stop in and we'll take care of you as a CR member.

Pretty sure I'm going to order the lisle plug tool just in case and the ht1s. What shop are you at though and what kind of dollar bills are we looking at?

  9. Anyone have any experience with changing plugs on these? Looks like a nightmare waiting to happen as ford uses a 2 piece plug and apparently carbon build up can cause them to pull apart at the ground shield and threads...

Also does anyone know of a single piece plug for these? Champion makes one but I'm not really trying to spend $12/plug on a stock motor

    *edit*

Car is an 06 mustang 3v

  10. Does anyone know if Wiggs, or perhaps his wife has a white 458 Italia? The plates read: E WIGGS and it certainly looked like him (fatter, douchey-looking, white guy). Anyway, 60 rolled him in the Bimmer. He looked over, started laughing, and only dropped down two gears. He was not expecting a little turbo Bimmer to hang with him all the way to 120+, he looked pissed!

Pretty sure that's his wifes car
