I can clearly see that the bottom of the shoe on the top also has a concave radius.  It's just that it it's a 251,095,680 inch radius (only rearward of the lead in which ends at the ball of the foot) so it isn't perceptible to mere mortals.

  2. Welcome to the forum from a fellow NE OH 50 something (soon to be 60 something) rider.  Nice stable there.  I have more of a need for speed than a need for vintage myself, but it's nice to see some well cared for old bikes. Hope to meet you at some of this season's Ohio Riders get togethers.

I'm still leaning hard toward the vfr1200 because v4 and because Honda, but the ninja is a sexy bike...idk if I'll be doing a ton of long hauls, probably won't have time to the way the new job is looking, not for this season at least. I look forward to dragging my nuts across the seat of as many bikes as possible.

That vfr1200 is very very nice.  Seems equal with the Ninja 1000 on twisty ability but probably has better suspension as the Ninja has 41mm forks.  Plus, no pesky chain on the vfr.  Fit & finish on the vfr1200 is top end. Ninja 1000, not so much. Kawi went budget on the Ninja but Honda went all out on the vfr1200. IMHO it's one of the most underrated bikes around. Plus, the vfr1200 is red, lol.

I had not considered the ninja 1000 until now. Pretty impressive numbers. It's on the list of bikes I want to ride.

Ninja 1000 has been good to me.  Never been left behind on it.  It's not a bike with a soul though, if that's what your looking for.  It's more like a tool for tools. (With comfortable ergos.) You can ride mine if and when you have your meaty greet if you want. I do soft bags & am not into that 2 up crap.  My wife rides her own.  I must admit, the thing that bugs me the most about this bike is it drags pegs at about 85% pace compared the CBR I used to have.

I still have my 1969 Z50, given to me in '75 for my 10th birthday.  Best present ever.  Post up your first bike pics if you can!

I was going to restore it, but the parts cost about $1500.  The poor thing is whipped, after I outgrew it my brother learned to ride on it, and seemingly every part needs replaced.

I had a z50 of the same color & probably the same year when I was a lad.  It was great fun.  I do remember getting the rear portion of the frame welded up on a regular basis due to the jumps & lack of rear suspension.  I had my heart set on something with a 5 HP Tecumseh engine on it at the time, but  I think my dad got the Z50 for me because it was only 2 HP. The 3 speed transmission was a big plus for  a rider in training though.  Pretty durable little bike.  Kudos for still having yours,

  6. Saturdays are good. Your homebrew is excellent.  Whatever flavors you want to make I'm sure will be great. The food last year was excellent as well. Great to get out & chat with some fellow riders.  I'll ride my bike this year so I'll have earplugs for the mullet rock.  If anyone has missed this so far you've missed out on a good time.  If you decide to come don't forget to bring CA$H for Sam as he puts a lot of money & time into getting this thing together.
