  1. I'm in. It'll be good seeing all y'all again.
  2. Forecast for New Year's Day is looking like 26 degrees and cloudy. Looks great! I'm in!!!
  3. It was raining when we launched and 30 minutes later it was raining more!! We bailed and went to 62BBQ for lunch. That was really good. There were five of us. We'll try again. No Ohio ride set for May as we will be riding to Deals Gap. Later!!
  4. I've heard you guys put on some good rides. I will be there for sure.......
  5. Watching this video in slow motion looks like he fell off leaning way hard, then slid back into traffic, then Colin hit him in the back, and Valentino hit him in the head area. I can't imagine getting back on the bike being involved in that. Motogp says Colin broke the shoulder and went home to Texas to recover. I just cant imagine........ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/motorcycling/8844174/Marco-Simoncelli-killed-in-accident-at-Malaysian-MotoGP.html
  6. Praying for God's comfort on Colin and Valentino as they mourn through this as well. And for Marcos family. He brought us all great joy doing what he loved.
  7. Not starting? Need any help with it or is it up and going?
  8. It turned out to be a nice ride. GregR6 and I met up at BP at 10 then warmed up for a quick bit then went riding. It was cold getting to Danville but really nice after that. 520 is a bit hilly and blind on the north half but open with some great turns on the south half. It was a little wet and muddy in some spots so both of the bikes are a little dirty - his more than mine. We road it three times before heading back on 62 then home. Nice to meet you in person Greg. Phil
  9. 36 in Hilliard right now with frost on the windows. Breakfast at Cracker Barrell is tasting great right now. The warm sun is cresting east Columbus as I write this. The Bandit looked awfully good this morning as the steam poured from the exhaust. Liners in the Cortech gear will really make this morning's ride comfy. I'll be in Danville by 10 and on 520 shortly afterwards. It's gonna be a nice ride today. I should be in thermal shock by 1030 and perhaps frozen dead by 1100. See ya there.
  10. Due to some other commitments I can't start any later. Also since I live on the west side, the quickest way for me is straight up 62. So I'll see you all in Danville.
  11. Hi Guys: Just to make it a separate thread from the CSBA monthly rides, I'm planning on hitting OH520 this weekend for a few rides in "both directions". I am told the northbound version is better. I "really" liked this road from last Saturday's CSBA ride (as well as the others attached to it) and am planning to ride it a few times this coming Saturday. Weather permitting, which looks like 50 and partly sunny, I will be at the Danville BP at 62 and 514 at 10AM and launching after a quick fuel up. Heading north on 514 to 520, then down and up a few times to "remember the turns" and have a few good shots at them. It might be fun to have a few bikes show up. PhilS
  12. See Rides and Events - posted in wrong area.
  13. I'd say, weather permitting, next Saturday the 22nd we meet up at the Danville BP at 10AM, then ride the 10 fun miles on 514 up to 520 and hit it 4 times back and forth. Then it's back to the BP for gas up and a break. 520 is only 13 miles long but a ton of fun. If nothing else, it's something to do on two wheels. I shall be watching the weather..........
  14. Well after yesterday's ride, I believe I have found one of my new favorite Ohio roads: Ohio 520. Wow!!! New pavement, turns you can see through, nice elevation changes, and long enough to get in to a rhythm. I will hit that road a few more times this year even of nothing else but to run it back and forth for a while. Great road!!!
  15. Did they help you with your suspension setup?
  16. Well, overall a success. Six total riders and no one crashed! Three of us split at 9:30 from the church and met three more at KFC Newark around 10:10. It was cold this morning and the gusts really picked up on the route back south down 60 and 79. As it turns out I posted the route in reverse from suggested!! This made a difference on 520 - which is an outstanding road north to south but I understand it's better south to north. Hopefully a ride in November will work out, but I wouldn't count on it as it will probably be too cold................(for Todd). I clocked about 240 miles today. Nice day on the bikes - Thanks Guys!!
  17. I think I found a good gas stop about 1/2 way. In Danville on 62 right on our path. I called - yep they exist. It's about 80 miles from the KFC or 100 miles from the church. From Danville it's about 75 miles back to the KFC or 95 miles back to the church. See ya at 9AM at the church or at 10AM to the rest of yuns at the KFC. Later..........it'll be chilly in the AM but severe clear weather!!!
  18. I'm in. We Columbus types can meet at the Church then meet up with you Coshocton types at the KFC at 79/16 if that works........I think that's the intent anyway. Saturday Central Ohio Forecast is 62 high, 50 low Sunny and Windy with "0%" chance of rain.
  19. See update to post #1 http://www.ohioriders.net/showpost.php?p=730791&postcount=1
  20. Aside from all the razzing....I think a Dayton area ride would be cool. Could you (idodishez) suggest some roads, or routes, then we could make a trip out there? I know down by Cinci as it starts going down hill to the river it can get nice, or in the Lebanon area are some nice roads, but they all seem to be 1 or 2 mile spurts of twisties then long open roads again. Suggest away - it would be nice to see a different part of the state.
  21. ******UPDATED WITH ROUTE DETAILS***** Hi guys: October "might" be our last scheduled ride for the year. John will be out this week so Todd ( 1000rrrider ) has graciously offered to route out the ride and lead it. I would have led the ride, but it's tough to do from the back!! HA!! Here is the route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/759401/embed Basically it's this..........79 north to 36. 36 east to 715 (1/8th mile). 715 west to 36 over the dam. 36 west to 62. 62 north to 514. 514 north to 520. 520 south to 62. 62 east to 60 (1/8th mile). 60 south down to 36. 36 west to 60. 60 south to 541. 541 west to 79. 79 south back home. From the church and back to the church it is 183 miles and 3 hours 15 minutes. So figure 5 hours with any breaks. It's 32 miles/35 minutes from church to the 79/16 KFC start point. If we leave at 9:30, we will hit the KFC at 10AM (or so) and be ready to launch from there too. As always, meet at Calvary Chapel of Columbus located at 6075 E. Livingston Ave. This month, plan on being there with a full tank by 9AM and we will depart at 9:30AM since it's usually colder those October mornings. Later.......PhilS
  22. Just saw that Indy signed a deal to host the RedBull Motogp event at Indianapolis for 2012 and through 2014. In light of Austin's new track coming online soon, this is GREAT news..........and next year they run 1000's. Cool. (Thanks for the tip John.........) Perhaps Ducati will actually run well in 2012! Here's the link. http://www.autoweek.com/article/20110904/MOTORCYCLERACING/110909946
