Having a good stance is one key to good shooting. These are three commonly used pistol using stances. I personally use the weaver stance. This is the most comfortable for me to shoot from. In a combat or tactical situation by "blading" your body, or turning slightly to the side, this gives you a lower profile. The drawback is that body armor tends to not protect the side of your body and can allow a single bullet to strike more major organs. If you are only target shooting then it isn't a big deal. With the weaver and modified weaver stances, your gun hand presses out against your non-gun hand while your non-gun hand pulls in against your gun hand. Push-pull. With the isosceles stance, each hand presses toward the center against each other. For most people this is the easiest and most comfortable to accomplish because pressure is split evenly between each side of your body. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pR3L0fcEzfk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I01I-LkU3jA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSvB9-pjv78
