  1. Doesn't that affect the springs after a while?

Loading a magazine while being shot at sucks.

I've heard both, that leaving them compressed hurts them. Or it's the loading, unloading and reloading of the springs that wears them out. I don't care to much. Like I said, an empty magazine does no good.

  2. Like Kawikid said, try to get him into a beginners course. But do take him with you for the CHL class. The more knowledge and more times he learns about firearm safety, the better. If anything, this will allow him to get a feel for firearms by sitting off the side side an watching. He won't be put on the spot but when he takes his own class, he should be one step in front of the game.

  3. When I was driving my 91 Toyota Tercel, I'd hypermile it. It was a stick shift so I could pop it out of gear, turn off the car and coast for a while. A few spots I know of I could coast for 2-3 miles. Then just start it using the clutch, no wear on the starter. 45-50 mpg.

  4. i actually really like the 2 piece plastic holster+half case you can get from verizon. it's pretty cheap, and does the job. retention is ok, short of hanging upside down, and easy to use.

apps i like: if you're rooted, get wifi tether at minimum.

jorte is a good calendar app, so is quick settings and simple sound profile widget.

words with friends is ok if you like scrabble (notifications can be a bit wonky at times).

google goggles is handy if you get lots of business cards to add to your contacts list.

some others i'm forgetting. it's perfectly capable of doing all the things the apps do (for the most part) but the apps add a different interface that can make it easier to access all the functions.

definitely kill task killer. it is pointless.

If it's rooted and you use the wifi tether, do you still have to pay for it? Verzion wants like 30 bucks a month to do that. :nono:
