I got "volunteered" for a few things this afternoon, not by my plan.

Being built by Howe and Howe, I can bet that it's tough... Very tough!

That stuff that people put in there to "fix" a head gasket problem can cause serious damage, like restricted coolant passages, which can easily cause a repeat head gasket failure. I can definitely understand why someone would recommend an engine replacement. If they're not too expensive, a used engine can be pretty close to the same price as a proper head gasket replacement.

But, when it's homemade, from WVO, there is a significant cost savings!

Yeah, that's it. When I'm ready for that, I'll get a faster one. For the street, I don't really want to be able to go that fast.

From what I understand, the commercially available Bio is not from waste vegetable oil. There are some potential problems from switching back and forth between Bio, and petrol, (in vehicles) which varies by application. One example is the VW injection pump head o-ring. When switching from bio back to petrol, the ring can shrink causing problems with the pump keeping primed.

But nobody really pays much attention to him, other than to get him riled up on political issues.

How about old school Honda manuals? I've been looking for a FSM for the VF500F, and although they supposedly pop up on ebay once in a while, I've never been able to snag one.
