New pavement? What's that?

yup! Can't say that it's totally unfounded fear though. The government has always been corrupt. Nothing new.

The record so far is something like Coshocton 1289 - Katana's 1 or 2! The best advice I can give a new rider, being that I've only been riding a little over a year is to not ride any faster, or corner any harder than you're ready for. Start out slow, and build skill. There are many tips I can offer for every aspect of riding, from corner entrance (one I'm still working on) to taking off and stopping (don't kill the engine) and I have a long way to go on learning to ride a bike!

The sportster's are the little ones, that are still WAY heavy!

They like to go rubber side up in Coshocton. Welcome to the madness! I agree with the others, all the gear, all the time. At a minimum, Jacket, helmet, gloves, and boots (work boots are better than flip flops!) I'd rather be hot and sweaty than take a chance on getting tore up if (more like when) I go down.

Why didn't we go there on the DTC ride? Oh yeah, that's right, the guy that knew of the place wasn't there!

Just an odd number to notice, but OR is up to 4567 members. Seems liek just months ago that I saw 4000 posted. Oh wait, it WAS just months ago!

Have to wander back up here to Johnstown for some REALLY good BBQ, better than that stuff we had down there. I'm saying that place wasn't good, but Rt 62 BBQ is better.

I'd like to makde another Hocking ride or more this year, I'm just not comfortable with going it alone at a fun pace, since I don't know the roads down there. It's gonna be a couple weeks before I can get back out though, unless I don't go to the IndyCar races.

Smartphones aren't all that smart sometimes. You have to babysit them! Phil, what sort of ride are you looking for? People that know that area might be able to give more suggestions knowing that.
