You let off the throttle, ever so quickly, then right back on, much like you do when shifting with the clutch, just a little quicker. Blipping the throttle is opening the throttle and letting off really quickly. My Interceptor goes both ways, upshift and downshift, really smoothly. The gear ratios must be really close (i'll have to look them up.) To downshift, I do a slight blip, as I would using the clutch, and it drops right into the next lower gear. Not all bikes will downsift very well without the clutch. The ninja 250 does not like it at all. I can do it, but as harsh as it is, it can't be good for it. The interceptor is practically smoother without the clutch.

The cone test? Maybe not more than a couple swerves, but I do a weave quite often, for lane position. If I see a car have an opportunity to turn from a side street or drive, I position myself to the right of the lane, then return to the left. I swerve to miss roadkill quite often as well. The cone test is not much like real world though, due to the low speed. The figure 8 I use fairly often as well, turning around in the driveway, or parking lots. That one is more real world than the cones. They really need to have something more like a real road test, somehow. Just my opinion though.

FUCK NAFTA... I've seen too many people lose their jobs (myself included) due to NAFTA. The good thing for me was that I had a bettter job to go right into, and started right when I left and got a few dollar an hour raise.

I've noticed some bikes do better with it than others.

And quit dropping bikes! Geesh! One of the biggest things things I learned, and didn't use like I should have right away was to look through the turn. I still catch myself looking down more than I should once in a while though.

There are more people that should not have guns in Newark than people that should. Spend some time there, you'll know what I mean.

I wasn't so sure about speed shifting from first to second, and tonight on the 500 (it's alive again) I was upshifting without the clutch almosst every time (the hydraulic clutch on that thing is a monster to pull compared to the well lubed cable on the 250) and accidetally did the 1-2 shift without the clutch, which I never have done. Honestly, I've missed the 1-2 shift more USING the clutch than without now!

I'm gonna call on this one...

Meaning that Todd takes it really slow and concentrate heavily on every inch of the road. I don't think Todd will mind seeing this repeated, ride your own ride, at your own pace. They will wait for you to catch up. I know they will wait, I ride a 250, and have never been left behind!

Chevysoldier got the rear tire off the ground for the panic stop in our class, on the DR200 (I think that's what it was.) Also, one of the instructors managed to drag peg during the swerve exercise.

I'm sure there are no words that could express the loss she is suffering at this time. I have sent prayers for her family since I heard about this. From the overwhelming responses on Facebook alone, it looks like God has given an AWESOME amount of support, in family and friends. My heart is breaking for you JJC, Co2!
