  1. My Polar bear run last New Year's was frosty, but the roads were fine. Think temps were 12〫when we started, but it warmed up to a balmy 26〫when we departed our lunch stop.

So, in keeping w/tradition I did my New Year's ride today at around 9am. Temps were hovering down around 50〫and overcast when I headed out, but it warmed up a bit to 65〫at around noon. Luckily I had my heated grips!

    RIDE SAFE IN 2010!

:nono: Sounds like someone's trying to be an :asshole:

 Still glad to hear that you're enjoying the left coast.....

  2. I went to the shop a little while ago, and it's a good thing I decided not to attempt, because the Ninja starter is DONE. Just freewheels, I need to tear it apart and see if it's one of the gears or the starter clutch. I shoulda had the Hon-duh back together for this... :nono:

  3. I never done this but after replacing my front brake pads and putting all back together and was getting ready to take a ride, I went to pull out of the yard and I went to hit my brakes I had none,I forgot to pump them back up. I hit the side of the garage,Luckily I was only going about 4 or 5 mph. DUH......Anyways good luck on getting the pads apart.

I've done that (cars and bikes!) Actually, I make TRY to it a habit to test the brake pedal on any car that I work on before moving it. I sometimes forget and have an "oh shit" moment!

  4. Your landlord probably has access to the garage, so that'd be the concern with "just run it anyway"

But even then, they'd warn you before they just evict you, it's a fire hazard, not like you're cooking meth in there.

If it's inthe lease, they don't HAVE to just warn though.... It all depends on how strict they are.....

  5. Spike, part 1 over part 2 just started

Thanks. The Rose parade is on in the living room, maybe I'll move to the bedroom to watch something a bit more manly, since I'm too much of a wimp to make the polar bear run.....

  6. I would go but its cold , Im a puss , Im way to far away , my wife is sick , Im watching my daughter , Lethal Weapon marathon is on tv and most of all its really cold.

    What channel?

See, if Todd would be going, I'd have to man up and go, being that I'm so much closer....

  7. I was planning on heading out here soon anyone else in???

I think I'm wimping out. Maybe I could use the excuse of the Hon-duh still being torn apart, or the starter being messed up on the ninja. Nah, I know the Ninja will at least start once, and I could leave it running, or get a push to get it going.... Yup, wimp......

  8. Thanks for the info. Yeah the HSI is not glowing and I just found a replacement so I need to get going to pick it up.

Wow! Glad to hear you found one today! That is a bit surprising! The HSI def comes on first, the the gas valve, after the HSI has a few secs to warm up and glow. Then of course, the flame sensor will detect if it is actually flaming.

Where I live now, there's fuel-oil furnace. Those have a totally different set of issues, on top of the cost of the oil!

  9. Try holding down the 0 (# zero) as soon as you turn the netbook on. Hold down for 5-10 seconds or until it starts to beep and let off. Along the bottom left of the screen it should flash "HDD RECOVERY" and take you into a recovery partition. From here you can choose to restore to an earlier date or to "recover to out of the box state". I hope this is helpful and works on most all of the other Toshibas I sell although I am not familiar with their netbooks.

Interesting! I'll have to see about that one on my laptop!
