  1. Very nice ride report mark Here is a map of the roads we took, a little easier to follow then my random road numbers above. this is the ride up http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=214536384387453898138.0004aa187396ada51e1de here is the ride home http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=214536384387453898138.0004aa1933076d425fd25
  2. If I go one round that the light doesnt change I just run it. Seems to work out ok just look around for cops first. Really they cant expect bikes to just sit there and wait when its not going to change
  3. Hope your buddy is ok, with that said why in the hell would you let anyone ride your bike? Like 2talltim said its kind of becoming a trend
  4. Its just to hard to find a two lane road that you can keep moving on for more than 25-50 miles at a time plus gas stops added in ill have to say it would be rough. Kansas has a bunch of two lane roads you could knock out 700 easy in one day
  5. I know but it was mentioned to add the ss1000 in which I doubt it could be done in a day without being freeway. I will go out on a limb and say it would be one hell of a day to put in 700 not on the freeway
  6. It would be hard to do 1000 in a day on anything but the freeway
  7. This is a half ass explanation of the roads we took with some info on a few of the places( i just pulled randowm you tube videos of the places we were at), a few post down is a easier to understand map We took 71 to 90 upto utica Ny from there we rode 28/30/3/87 through the Adirondack mountains then we headed across the bridge on 11 to rt2 vermont http://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/595/Vermont/Lake-Champlain-Islands-on-US-Route-2.html from there we took 89-S to 100-N we then took 108-N (smugglers notch) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1USy2tRMk4 then 105 to 118 to 100 then 15 to 2 into the White mountains we took 16 down to Mt washington auto road http://www.mtwashingtonautoroad.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4VWEpcQvwA&feature=related the we took 2 into maine and rode this loop http://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/276/Maine/Rangeley-Lakes-Scenic-Byway.html from there we rode to the coast and headed down to cape cod and back across through ny and pa on the way home
  8. Will add more later tonight when I get home were about 500 miles out
  9. It was 50 at the top of the mountain with 40 mph wind. Its a good thing I had my coat. We came across a full grown bull moose half way down it may have been the coolest thing I have ever seen
  10. The auto road was very different, I am scared of heights and the middle section is dirt with no rails. It had me on edge both going up and down. But I have to say its a must see
  11. Were going to hit vt108 tommorow then head over to mount washington to hopefully head up the auto road if its open Were in montpelier at the moment.

  13. I have owned two and never had any problems. The only thing you really need to be aware of is if the bike has ever been down or not taken care of. I am a die hard yamaha fan but will admit that almost all the big name bikes are equal as far as quality and issues. With proper maintenance and care you should have no problems with this bike or any other for years
  14. I have those on my super moto and they have that line
  15. 2talltim how many miles do you have on those pr ones and what kinda life is left on them
  16. no problems with the lean angles here either
  17. Damn ill be in maine riding that week if not I would be in
  18. just an update for those interested in these tires. I have put about 8-9 thousand miles on these tires, they seem to have about 1000-2000 miles left on the rear and about 3-4 thousand left on the front. I am getting ready to head to maine next week so I am going to throw a set of pr2s on the bike just to see how they compare. All in all I am very happy with the pr3 as far as tire life, grip in wet and dry
  19. motorcycleroads.coms top 100 roads- many of them are close enough to make a nice couple day ride http://www.motorcycleroads.com/best/?s=75 also if considering wv look into rt 219 it is a very nice ride with many mountain passes, there are also a bunch of things to see and do along the way
  20. I like to keep my miles low by buying one or two new bikes a year
  21. 25000 on my fjr, I just got it over the winter and put about 12000 on it in the last six months, doing 3500 miles next week 30000 on my xr650l
