Agree, pull the plugs and look at color. If any look wrong check for spark on that wire.

When I was thinking of getting serious on the track and getting a bike for it, that was mandatory requirement of any of the bikes I looked at.

Considering I just ordered and have not gotten it let alone used it, no I have no experience with it.

Based on the recommendation of an OR member that isn't a dumbass (amazingly there really is one), I just ordered some 'Bike Bright'. He uses it for just this purpose and swears by it.

I would suggest knitting. Lots of hot Grandma's do that, you could get lucky.
