  1. Uncle Sam paid for the two bikes I've had thanks to two paid vacations to Iraq.

    Best wings

Who has the best chicken wings in columbus/ohio? My vote is for Gallo's Taproom.
  3. Congrats on the tiny creature, they can be a handful but in the end they're worth every minute of lost sleep.
  4. If she likes wine, there's a small winery in the short north called camelot cellars that I believe does wine tastings.
  5. I've never found the need for a stand to change the oil or tighten the chain on any on the bikes I've had. I can see the convenience of having a rear stand for tightening the chain, but not so much "need." Just my 0.02, in the end it's up to you.
  6. I'm pretty sure the controls are reversed but it's not the end of the world. If I even buy it I've got to get it running before I need to worry about riding it. The Indian owned and produced Enfields are dispointing but I also saw that Norton is making bikes again and they look nice. Not sure if they're made in England or if they were sold off too but they only have a handfull of dealers in the US right now anyway.
  7. Awesome, thanks. I'm not even sure I'm going to buy it yet, the guys who's selling it is kind of a flake. He got the bike for free from his uncle. It doesn't run, he doesn't ride, and his total plan was to fix the bike up and sell it but he doesn't really know anything about bikes. I think he underestimated the amount of work it would be. I did look at the Enfield mc site and was kind of saddened to see the new Enfields are from India.
  8. I know this is a really general question but any help you guys can give would be much apreciated. Does anyone know of any horrible problems or shortcomings that the late 1960's Royal Enfields had or have? I'm not sure of the exact year or model so I'm not really expecting specifics, just looking for general kinds of problems such as "the electrics on all of them suck." I might be able to post some pics of the bike on Saturday if I can get ahold of them. Thanks in advance.
  9. Wow, this is a terrible situation. Awesome to see the samaritan follwed the guy until the cops could catch up. Since the guy ended up dying I wouldn't be surprised to see some type of manslaughter charge tacked on to the rest of the charges.
  10. Thanks, I was wondering what was going to happen with the confiscation of their cuts. Not that I'm particularly invested in how many of them get slapped with criminal and RICO charges or what happens to their cuts. It was just interesting that they were the only outlaw club that had a blanket confiscation order for their colors.
  11. Out of curiosity, when did this happen? I know for a while their cuts were subject to confiscation by any law enforcement agency on sight. I was unaware that had changed.
  12. Don's Car Care in Whitehall on E. Main St. I've taken my current car and my last two cars to him every time something went horribly wrong with them and he's never done me or anyone I've sent there wrong. They do solid work for an affordable price. I highly recommend them.
  13. Just saw you guys in the Whitehall parade, looking good. Whoever the two guys who were actually riding were, those are nice bikes as well as the bikes on the trailers.
  14. Just did the numbers thing and the Chuck Norris one, that's priceless
  15. This reminds me of several years ago when everyone was lobbying for the concealed carry law to get passed. Some organizations put together alot of mass open carry demonstrations across the state. At every location for one of these demonstrations the local police were notified well in advance and the route for the open carry marches was all planned out. I went to one in Gahana and durring the two miles of the march we were trailed by police and instructed only to open carry on the march and at the assembly area. This was to avoid being harrassed by any of the police or local citizens. After the march one guy, with his wife and two kids, went into a local ice cream store, still open carrying. He was stopped and detain by the Gahana PD, his weapon was confiscated and he ws let go. Having done nothing wrong he still had to jump through several hoops just to get his gun back from the PD. Durring the march we got alot of supportive looks and waves from people in cars but we also got an equal number of unsupportive looks and gestures. I don't think tons of people openly carrying would really change anything other than how much we would all get stopped and bothered by store managers, police, or regular people who think it's their "job" to try and "correct" you; kind of like those anti-smoking nazis who see someone light up and then come over to spew out all their facts about how smoking is bad and you shouldn't do it. Even though you're well within the law to open carry, for me, being bothered that much is too much hasstle. That's why I have a CCW and why I conceal my gun when I carry. I will admit though that many of the local and state law enforcement officers and agencies have become much more well informed about the state's firearm laws since the first few years of the CCW law being in effect. Most of this is academic though. If you want to open carry I fully support your right to do so but I would also expect to be stopped every once in a while and asked what you're doing; not everyone knows the laws and even some that do don't agree with them and have no trouble letting other people know it. Just my 0.02
  16. Spagio in Grandview, great Italian food and the best cheesecake in the city. No reservations needed and the quality vastly outweighs the price.
  17. Do you know what route they're using for the Whitehall parade? I havn't been able to find any info on any of the Whitehall 4th of July stuff. I can't imagine they're going to go down yearling rd like they usually do, at least not with all the construction. Of course the Whitehall city officials have done stranger things.
  18. Wow, "That sucks" doesn't seem to cover it but I hope your buddy pulls through

    Harley Rant

Fair enough I suppose, the older the bike the more effort and wrenching it takes to keep it on the road. Still I have to say I like the style and the lines of the older bikes from the '40s through the '60s over the more modern styles. Might just be me though.

    Harley Rant

Just curious about something. I agree it's often the rider as opposed to the bike they're on, and I'm no fan of any harley that rolled off the assembly line after 1969, but I see some people commenting on the stupid prices of a new harley that has the same old tech. What about the old school vintage harleys? Is the general opinion that all harleys are crap or does the age of the bike make a difference? Just wondering
  21. For anyone who wears a full face helmet you could also check these out http://helmetaudio.com/khxc/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=HS24&sid=uoz6prb7jllav9u7j76grgi2om6859tz I havn't had the chance to get myself a set yet but they look good
  22. That's awesome man. The bike looks great and it's always a good thing to help out a vet whenever possible. Nicely done.
