  1. I'm pretty sure I've seen a member here that has a Kawasaki green Ninja 1000, prolly 2013-2015 gen. Need to ask he/she would be interested in a set of the color-matched Givi hard bags with the frame rack, as well as a VStream touring windscreen. I'd make a screaming deal with all the muss and fuss that COVID-19 has created. Thx!
  2. Actually, I recently read a research article (sorry, can't find the reference right now) that stated there are already 3 variants of COVID. They identified the strains as A, B, and C, with the strains labelled in chronological order as they mutated. Strangely, the researchers also said that the strain most prevalent from the Wuhan outbreak was the "B" strain, which possibly indicates that it originated somewhere else. They stated they weren't able to pinpoint the center of the origin, tho. My guess is that, as with the common seasonal flu virus that rapidly mutates and makes it difficult to produce a 100% effective vaccine for whatever seasonal variant will become prevalent, COVID will continue to mutate and remain as much a fact of life as the flu. Hopefully, mutation will also create a less lethal strain, or possibly a less transmissible strain. To your point about a vaccine "fixing" the problem--in addition to the likelihood of the virus continuing to mutate--I have read that researchers have not definitively established that immunity will be conferred on folks who show they have antibodies to COVID in their blood.....which leads me to ask WHY we're putting so much effort into creating a vaccine at this juncture if the effort could be all for naught. Still so much unknown about this crisis.
  3. Isn't that sort'a like a reverse porch pirate?
  4. Owww! Taunting me with high school English knowledge. I was a Chem/Physics major, so.... 😖
  5. That whole string kind'a reminded me of the quote from Donald Rumsfeld on Iraq and WoMDs: Rumsfeld stated:
  6. Well, there is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/exclusive-secret-military-task-force-prepares-to-secure-the-u-s-capital/ar-BB12IZtv?ocid=msedgntp
  7. Drywallers....pretty much sys it all. For their next trick, they'll shit in a wall pocket or down one of your heating vents.
  8. Ha! I cough in your general direction. WTF do English teachers know about science anyway? BTW, I haven't been able to disseminate since about 1978. 🤨
  9. I agree. She's one hell of a strong lady! As to your second point, I've heard many of her horror stories about staff incompetence at both the administrative, LPN, RN and MD level. Like I said, the medical field is simply a microcosm of the total work environment. I've done my absolute best at staying out of places that make their business model--necessary or not--off of human misery....well, except for the OhioRiders forum.
  10. People pretty much run the gamut from hero to loser. No reason to think that the population in the medical field is any different than what you run across in the office. My sister is a retired Respiratory Tech. Left about a year ago...basically burned out. She's just a couple years younger than me, so 68 yo. She was telling me she's strongly considering going back to answer the call during this crisis to help out. Not all are of the same mindset. Not sure I would do that if I were in her shoes. There will always those who run toward the trouble...and those who run the other way.
  11. David Geffen sends his thoughts and sincere best wishes as he self-isolates from his $400 million super yacht off-shore in the southern Caribbean.
  12. Are you advocating imposing restrictions on my right to free speech? I thought only the government could do that....or the OR admins. I haven't even posted pics of a basement full of ammunition or toilet paper. And this treatment protocol you speak of--does it involve good drugs? i might be in. Blame @Tonik. He started this thread. The majority of the OR community have far lower standards than you, at least with respect to grammar and punctuation.
  13. I have to remember that I must be more concise and on-topic for you educator types. Seriously, I only post what the voices tell me to. Grade me a D-minus for ambiguity.
  14. Absolutely true! https://www.cincinnatibell.net/player/category/news/article/wochit_postables-hobby_lobby_founder_god_told_my_wife_to_keep_store-velephant?fbclid=IwAR2dK0eDnDxmjCQRnAl5prCk039DeNUBsTDCpj-G0f3Z7IBOR7WhyazrHV4
  15. Aaaand....the race is on--less than 32 hours for the panicked hoarders to buy everything that isn't nailed down! There's the old saying that it's an ill wind that blows no good. The last two days, I've been walking the dog in the parks here in Hamilton County. I've seen more families--moms and dads, grandma and grandpa, kids, toddlers, tots in strollers, the family dog--all together on the trails. I hope this might be a little sign that something good will come out of this crisis.
  16. Ssshhhh! They'll hear us. Sorry. Did I misuse the word 'draconian'??
  17. So...old guy here in the high-risk age group just vegging at home adhering to the social distancing guidelines when the ancient, dusty memory of a kids jingle we used to sing on the school bus to torture the poor driver popped into my head as a didactic metaphor describing the situation we find ourselves in. If you're as old as me, you'll remember it: "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly. I don't know why she swallowed a fly. Perhaps she'll die. "There was an old lady who swallowed a spider that wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside 'er. She swallowed the spider to catch the fly, but I don't know why she swallowed the fly. Perhaps she'll die. "There was an old lady who swallowed a bird. She swallowed the bird to catch the spider...." on ad nauseum, ad infinitum, until she actually dies. Great little kid's ditty! So, we find ourselves in a world-wide pandemic that began as an isolated case of a novel virus from a relatively small city in rural China and rapidly progressed to country-wide lockdowns in Italy, Spain, Ireland, France, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand, El Salvadore, and likely soon to include the US with increasingly draconian measures that threaten not just the world's economy but the social fabric of the human race.... ...ALL BECAUSE SOME DAMN CHINAMAN ATE A BAT! To quote the infamous line from The Big Lebowski: "This is what happens, Larry...."

    Dinner!

Pretty sure you don't need to worry about keeping the rubber bands on after they're steamed....IJS
  19. Welcome to OR. Most of the activity is around C-bus and to the north and east, but there's a few of us in SW Ohio and here in the 'Nati. Most of routes I take are across the river in NKY, #becausebetterroadslesstraffic! If you're not familiar with the local haunts, Saturday morning Cars 'n' Coffee is hosted by Ta'bogo Café 8-12 on Riverside Dr east of the city. https://www.facebook.com/tabogocafe/ Tuesday night is Bike Night at the Comet in Northside--great beer selection, surly wait staff, hipsters, and burritos bigger than your head! Most of this stuff goes year 'round but won't get a lot of traffic until the weather breaks. Things should start to heat up--literally and figuratively--locally soon. I'll keep you in the loop. If you haven't joined yet, jump on FB and join Cincinnati Café Racer and Ride Cincinnati Motorcycle groups.
  20. Brian: Would love to have this and maybe make you an offer. Truth told, I'm "skeert" of the hitch mount style. I picture myself de-mounting/mounting a tire and having the tire bar slip and take out a tail light or put a dent in the tailgate. Yeah, I know it's s truck, but it's a NICE newer truck. What's been your experience? Is the main NoMar tower adaptable to a floor mount?
  21. Unfortunately, it's WAY EASIER to get a Small Claims court judgement than it is to actually collect from the deadbeat. Sounds like this guy falls into the category of full-time scammer vs an actual contractor that you could recover money from his business. Sorry this has happened to you. Posts like this help to remind the world is full of crooks! Good luck!!!
  22. Bubba

    Vacation deals.

I don't have the cubic cash to get Corona virus....prolly worst I'll come down with is Keystone Light virus.
  23. Based on what appears to be rear end damage, I'd hazard a guess that this is more likely a result of being rear-ended by a car than a failed attempt at "slaying the Dragon"....
