  1. Perhaps next year I'll have something a bit faster. Over the years since I was last on 2 wheels bikes have gotten so much faster for their size. (cc's) Even a 600 sport bike would just eat mine up after the first couple of gears. Off the line is one thing, I-670 is another. I didn't think I would have any trouble keeping up on a 550, but I was pushing it a few times. On 670 I even had it wide open for a mile or two. "Thats all there is, and there ain't no more". Everybody rode closer than I am used to. I left extra room for emergency maneuvers out of habit. Ohio roads being what they are it didn't seem like it was needed for pothole dodging. Old habits die hard. I noticed you weren't having any troubles either on your cruiser. Love the paint BTW. Next year!
  2. Give the fiance power of attorney, then she can sign for you. Forms available at the Deputy Registrars office. Maybe not the best option but an option none the less.
  3. Hi Casper,

I want to change my screen name from "1980KZ550LTD" to "Strictly Street" (Much easier to say).

Would you please edit my profile and make the change.

I'll send a copy of this to BornSinner so whoever gets to it first can change it when they get a chance.

Administrator option only so I can't do it for myself.

    Thanks In Advance

  4. Strictly Street, hmm... not bad, descriptive, covers anything I would ride and prolly some I wouldn't (200 mph! You have to be kidding!!!! Crazy but not insane!) neat, clean and to the point. Max Power, I think your onto something here. It sure beats the alphabet soup I'm using now. I think I'll message Casper about this. Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me!
  5. WOW cable. Faster, more reliable, three _free_ IP addresses, better customer service, effectivly the same price as TW cable. Insight is owned by TW, hmm.... DSL is slower than cable. DSL speed ads are "Neglecting wind resistance, downhill, if you get out and push speeds". In real life, never happens. When comparing $$ don't forget to ad the cost of basic phone service to the DSL $ So $35 becomes $50+ If they are running fiber to your house they _may_ pull all the copper lines out so you can't go back if you don't like it without $$$!
  6. I read it and every other article I could find. The only person who quoted 90mph was the car drivers girlfriend in the _comments_ section, not the paper itself. Hmm... sounds kinda odd that she of all people knows how fast the bike was going. Reading into the context of her comments by inference she wasn't there. Of course that could be her poor spelling/English skills or because she was upset at the time of posting.
  7. My bikes older than your kid and I'm older than it is! You'll fit right in here. Welcome
  8. Excellent, problem solved! And, I am kinda cool, hell yeah! I'll have to get me some cheap sunglasses. Perhaps a cruiser.... Maybe a sport bike... Dirt bike? Ah, no, strictly street thank you. Dirt does not like me. It tries to hurt me every chance it gets.
  9. Thank you for the info. So no screen name then? Ok that makes 7! EvilTwin Looney Ziggy RiceBurner 1980KZ550LT Gary bigbluebird We might not have won but we did have more fun than the other teams!
  10. But what about the next bike? My speedo goes all the way up to 80, other bikes on my team had up to 140 and beyond. Ok, lets do the math... One bike leaves from New York going west at 80 mph... One leaves from Chicago going east at 140 mph... Who has more bugs by the end of the day?
  11. EvilTwin Looney Ziggy RiceBurner 1980KZ550LT bigbluebird Were still missing one of the two that left early...
  12. Perhaps, but change it to what? It would have to be cool like everybody else's name. A touch of humor wouldn't hurt either. I'll have to think on it for a bit.
  13. I second that, it _is_ a barn!!!!
  14. Thats 1980KZ550LT ad a K for Kawasaki! That is a hard name to say. I introduced myself to Casper at the bike shop and even I couldn't say it out loud. But it wasn't already taken like the other names I tried, so....
  15. Don't forget to get some tires _before_ you go flying around!

  16. It was a great time, the bike did great except at the highway stuff, it gets up in the rpms and tops out too quick. But I knew that going into it, no problem. I'd say dehydration was our biggest problem, you, me and everybody else too.

    See you around town!

  17. Don't know if we won on points but I think it was a win for the day! Very impressed with your skills at group riding. I learned a few things out there. Thanks.
  18. Fooled me, it looked so good that I didn't look very closely at it. It did have "That Sound" with those pipes.
  19. It was a good ride. Should have brought more water, hot out there. The "Fun Factor" was off the charts!! It was really good seeing people and their bikes from the site. Wish I had asked a few screen names and was a little better with remembering them. -chuckle- don't let the old bike fool you, it's quick off the line but tops out early. Sprockets were changed by a former owner. On 670 and such I was starting to run out of room on the tach. 65 mph = 6000 rpm. 75 mph = 7000 rpm. 85 mph = 8000 rpm. It redlines at 9000 so I didn't have much room left. So keeping up at 75-80 it was almost wide open. Er, not that we were speeding or anything else illegal including left hand turns....
  20. ===================== I did TV's years ago. But there was no money in it so I sold off all my tools and got out of the biz. My knowledge at this point is so out of date that I can only offer general comments. Sounds like the Convergence is off a bit. Its a tricky service adjustment to make and you need special tools. Signal generators and the like to generate a special test pattern on the screen just so the adjustment can be done. The good news is that there is most likely a user version of this adjustment available from your remote control. Which buttons to push I have no idea, depends on the TV. You can probably get a copy of the user manual on line. Which would be able to tell you which buttons to push to get it as good as it can be before calling in somebody. If you have kids they might have found the user adjustment and helpfully adjusted it for you. Putting it back should solve the problem. Good luck!
  21. Ran fantastically! I don't think old Kawi's die, they just go faster! Mine was running perfectly for the ride, no troubles at all. Did I mention that the other day I found out, surprise! It does wheelies?!!
  22. Black and green cruiser was a Harley. The one with the Gator aide bottle and a petcock connection for the extra gas. I guess I was in your group! Odd, I didn't think to ask anybody their screen name. I had the old bike, red Kawasaki, spent most of my time in the back learning about riding in a group formation. I never thought to ask what group # we were. Anyway, I had a blast! Learned a lot about riding in a group. Learned a lot about Columbus roads too! To bad I didn't make the party. Sounds like it was a good time too! Ah well, there is always next year!
  23. I had a great time today! Thanks to all the guys on my team. I'm missing the Party right now but it's late so I think I'll let it go. When do the scores get posted? And the pics! (They ought to be a scream)
  24. Anybody going to have stickers at the bike shop?
