I think O' People of little moderation, the idea is that many can share a cheap bucket of brew. Many bottles for a cheap price. You don't have to drink them all yourself. But you do get to talk to those that share with you. Thats the best part, sharing with others, like you! If you bring 6 friends, everyone gets 1 beer for under a buck. Still under the legal limit and with moderation. Can you control yourself enough to have available beer and your motorcycle? On the other hand, what would you have a Bar do? Offer free water? Free food? (they do this also, depends upon the day) So what else would you ask of them?

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I think this is one more reason we should not hang out where it"s "cool" to do so. Anyone still eighteen? TACO BELL On campus is ghey! Don't go there! A thought about local rides. You should be clear about where and when. Most people are coming from different areas, be kind, post a map of where you want to meet. Set a time of when you want to meet, and how long you will wait until you start the ride. Plan your route, where can I meet up with you if I'm late? This one was a FAIL because we did not do this. FIAL! FAIL! FLAII! FL!! FLAW!! FLOOF!!

Odd I went to the Taco Bell between 9th and 11th st. I was there at 7pm. There was a bunch of bikes there, so I pulled up and introduced myself. Then after about a 1/2 hour I figured out they were not us. Nice people all the same but, not us. They never heard of Ohio Riders. Nice to make new friends. I give this ride a "FAIL" Why? Nobody knew what or when. There was no fail/fallback to go for. I had a nice ride all by myself for three hours. Awesome!

I can find that I think, so when? Hmm... 6:20 now, campus area from here... Taco Bell, Near a Borders by 9th st on N high/23. I'm going to head out now, hope to see you there.

Yep, that. I took an interest in the topic of this thread as a real topic, the flame war was just a bonus. I ride an old style bike so new technical forms are of interest to me. Plus I haven't ridden in 20 years up until the last 2. So I'm kinda old school myself. Not too old to learn a new trick or two though! Thanks for the save of the other thread.!

I am doing contract work now. Not very exciting but it's money. Trying to get some updated certs so I can get back into sys administration stuff. Last job took me so far off track I ended up doing cold fusion programming. What is everyone else doing?

Did anyone get the pics from the guy that really knew about riding position? He seemed to make a lot of sense on why one style was better than the other. This Gunner dude seemed to be trying to do the old school hang which works on an old school bike with old school tires. Even if his example was kinda lame watch some old races and they all did that. Well they did it a lot better, but it was the same kind of hang. A modern bike has such different geometry, power band, seat position, center of gravity and lets not forget better tires! Old school just doesn't work on todays sport bikes. They are vastly superior in every way I can think of.
