  1. He looks happy to have made it. Iron butt for sure.
  2. Interesting approach none the less. Making the robot fit the machine instead of the other way around. The bike appears to be mostly stock. The robot shifts just like we do. Interesting design.
  3. Interesting take on self-driving vehicles. http://www.wired.com/2016/01/yamahas-motobot-will-make-human-motorcyclists-look-pathetic/
  4. Didn't see this posted yet so.... Yamaha just recalled every unit of it's new flagship superbike, the R1, due to major transmission problems - and this has a lot of owners very angry. Here's how this recall could be a make-or-break moment for Yamaha. The 2015 R1 is a spectacular machine - but a major recall like this could give Yamaha's reputation a black eye if they don't handle it properly.Last week, after a number of rumors that Yamaha was experiencing problems with the gearbox in it's flagship superbike, a recall was finally announced - and it's a big one. Yamaha is recalling every unit sold of the all-new R1 - over 3500 units - and replacing the entire transmission on all of them. It's going to be a big, expensive recall for Yamaha, and a headache for owners of the bike. But instead of being a black eye on Yamaha's reputation, it could actually be an opportunity for them to enhance customer loyalty - if they handle it right. 6. http://consumerist.com/2015/12/28/tigerdirect-has-new-owner-wont-accept-returns/ You may remember TigerDirect, a consumer electronics seller that has a website and once had stores across the country. They’re probably best known for acquiring the brands and assets of CompUSA and Circuit City when both chains filed for bankruptcy and went out of business. Now competitor PCM has purchased the TigerDirect brand, and appears to be winding down its consumer-facing business… including abruptly doing away with returns. Any returns. I never could get rebates from this company - finally gave up on them totally.
  7. More surprises today. So it would seem that it is an enhanced database of voter records plus additional info. Private big data companies come to mind instantly. http://nationbuilder.com/ Nation Builder: Used and trusted by over 7,000 customers in 98 countries Looks to be a massive organization of social activism. Perhaps their hiring a few good database people?
  8. State by state sure. Inevitable that a federal database would be made. The numbers are interesting, Looks like 1/4 of the voters are swing voters, no party registration. Some number like 1/2 of the people actually vote. Who owns the database is still in question. It does take some cash to run the hardware so I'm guessing we'll know who soon enough.
  9. http://www.cnet.com/news/massive-trove-of-voters-election-data-discovered-on-web/ A misconfigured database has exposed the personal information on more than 191 million US voter records, according to Chris Vickery, a security researcher who made the discovery and shared his findings with Databreaches.net for a story published Monday. The database contains information required for voter registration -- including names, home addresses, date of birth and home phone numbers -- as well as voting history since 2000. By comparison, the US Census Bureau found that 142.2 million US citizens were registered to vote in 2014 (PDF). Quite a database! Wonder who the ~50 million other voters were/are? All Hail our lizard overlords!
  10. So, roughly 500 million people want to kill me because I don't want to live in the seventh century. Is that about it? Hmmm. The Crusades was not about hating Islam. It was about kicking them out of the country and sending them home. Hmm,,, Invasion by immigration. Ok, haters, go off on this..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_To-cV94Bo I know, a different, not politically correct view is inherently evil and always wrong, right? Sigh... And yet, I seem to apoligise for even pointing this out, wonder why that is? Like I fear the social Justice warriors that will try to marginalize my post or accuse me of micro-agressions against some minority which has "most favored victim" status. Watching the TV news is just painful and very sad. Morons on parade.
  11. What? No mention of the Peacock fashion forward helmet?
  12. Here's the science of the "Other" study. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3359953/Humans-evolved-supersleepers-Researchers-better-sleep-time-nearest-relatives.html Now we are "Super Sleepers"! How humans have evolved into 'supersleepers': Researchers find we get better sleep in less time than our nearest relativesHumans sleep an average of 7 hours, while other primates sleep up to 17Longer periods of deep sleep stages help humans rest more efficientlyEarly humans shortened their sleep patterns long before artificial light
  13. Too much sleep is 'AS bad for your health as smoking and drinking alcohol': More than 9 hours a night means you're '4 TIMES more likely to die early' Sleeping more than 9 hours puts you at a higher risk of premature deathInactive people who sleep and sit a lot are 4 times as likely to die youngResearchers said this combination is as deadly as smoking and drinkingThe results come from 45 And Up, Australia's largest health study We’re often told that sleep is the best medicine. But, a new study revealed that too much sleep is hazardous to your health. Sleeping more than nine hours a night – combined with sitting too much during the day and a lack of exercise – can be just as bad for you as smoking and drinking alcohol. People living sedentary lives are four times as likely to die early, experts warned. We are all doomed! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3356642/Too-sleep-bad-health-smoking-drinking-alcohol-9-hours-night-means-4-TIMES-likely-die-early.html Not enough sleep will kill you. too much sleep will kill you. The bottom line seems to be that you will die. I do love the studies that help us live better lives... Bacon, no bacon.... Eggs=cholesterol vs Eggs don't = cholesterol Global warming Dogs and cats living together. rainfall and wetness. Sigh... Is there a "study" that actually helps people? Anybody got one that actually makes sense? No, not the lesbian sex study. but you have already clicked the link haven't you.... http://www.refinery29.com/2014/08/73012/lesbian-orgasms-study Sigh... The media doesn't lead us around by the topic of the day...... or do they?
  14. Offering "proof" implies that the concept was in question in the first place.
  15. Syed Farook,Tashfeen Malik, his wife and his brother. All local talent, US citizens. Assault rifles, body Armour, extra magazines, pipe bombs, organized attacks. Middle east travelers to visit warzones in the past. Devout Muslims. Developing... Seems the media has hit all the high points. Cue the media circus. Now for the standard reactions from the media pundants and politicians. Today's TV is making this the fault of the NRA somehow. Obama's immigration policy just took a hit. Trump just got a boost.
