  1. I'll tell ya what I did notice. If you don't get those curb feelers off yer footpegs you won't have to worry about the pipe clearance, becuase you'll plop that thing down on its side. Just ask Cooter about Gingerman. (Sorry, bro. Just trying to save another OR guy from that pain.)

Why are those even there? Seems like a wreck in the making.

  2. GS500F... that'll at least keep her interested over the anemic 250 - and would make a good beater bike for you when you want to keep the miles off the 600RR.

I like your thinking, I'm doing some searching now. I need a beater bike so next time we are running down the road and you ride a wheelie I don't feel like such a douche because I can't do it.

  3. A warrant on complaint is still a warrant. I can sign a complaint (warrant), have it time stamped, and someone on the other side of the city can execute (serve) that warrant 1 second later without a judge signing it. Yes, it will eventually be signed but it is still a warrant the second that the clerk of courts office time stamps it. As far as going back law school, never been there, and have absolutely no desire to.

Fonzie, I hope that your family is OK. And like I said in my previous post FUCK HIM! I hope that the prosecutor has a pair and breaks it off after they shove it in.

Thats like saying a honda civic is still a car - its true but there is a big differance between a honda civic and an F-150.

  4. there has to be someone on CL that would want to trade for a glock plus cash...

I haven't trolled CL very much thought I would start here first. Wouldn't necessarily have to be a EX250 I guess anything that is small and easy to ride (and not a hunk of junk).

  5. Hey all, I am looking to get an EX250 for the soon to be wife to ride around on. She just went thought the BRC and is really excited about getting her first bike.

I would like to find someone who has something decent she could start out on who would work out a partial trade for a Glock 22 .40 cal with a lasermax internal laser (guide rod). I have 3 mags(15 rounds each) , 3 holsters (fobus, duty, and a tactical leg) and an aluminum mezzi custom cut hard case.

If anyone has anything or knows anyone let me know. I can post pics of the gun and stuff.

    Thanks,

    John

  6. I honestly wouldn't get all wrapped up in this and worry too much over court procedure. I would contact your county victim assistance office and have them keep you in the loop on whats going on. They are there for you and will keep you and your family up to date on hearings and proceedings you should be at, and they can answer your legal questions (so you don't have to rely on a motorcycle forum, lol).

  7. Here's the update from yesterday. Not sure what a few of these mean yet, or what effect they'll have for us, like the Time Limit being waived, or the PT Report being issued.....

    7/14/2010 Assignment Notice issued

7/14/2010 Jury Trial set for 09/23/2010 at 08:30 AM in room 2 by Judge

    7/14/2010 Assignment Notice issued

7/14/2010 Pre-Trial with Judge set for 09/01/2010 at 10:30 AM in room

    7/14/2010 PT Report issued

7/14/2010 Time limits pursuant to ORC 2945.71-73 are hereby waived w

Time limit being waived means the defendant waived his right to a speedy trial - in the United States a person charged with a crime has the right to trial within 90 days unless he waives his right for such.

PT report - is a Pre Trial Report - its a very basic report of facts prior to the trial (usually immediately following a motion for discovery)

Don't get this confused with Pre Sentence Investigation (PSI) which will be immediately after the trial these are usually completed by a county (felony) probation officer and will include things like family background, criminal history, education history, ect. Basically anything that would influence sentencing. Some of the things in a PSI can't be obtained or used in a prior to a trial so it will be a lot more in depth.

  8. Officers file warrants all of the time. Any time officers file charges in the absence of the "suspect" it is filed as a warrant for the arrest of the person. It is very common in the cases of Domestic Violence. When the offender is not at scene and there is probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed, a warrant can be filed. As a matter of fact, I filed a warrant for this exact thing on a juvenile last week. He conveyed marijuana into the Juvenile Detention Facility. Even though possession of marijuana is a minor misdemeanor in the state of Ohio, it becomes a felony when conveyed into a detention facility.

An officer files whats called a "warrant on complaint" it can be arrested on as soon as it is time stamped by a municipal court, BUT still will be reviewed and ultimately signed by a judge. A "warrant for conveyance" (as in the charge of conveyance) is different than a "warrant to convey". If your getting these two mixed up you had better go back to law school.

I'll say it again a: A warrant to convey is an order by a judge for the transportation of a prisoner (period).

In the case above in regard to the warrant to convey: the defendants attorney has requested that this defendant be conveyed back from somewhere. Maybe the guy is in prison and the defense attorney is requesting his client be held in the local county jail - this is common if the person is in prison so he can be closer to his family during the trial.

MOTION DENIED by ROBERT A FRY Judge on 07/10/2010 (FOR WARRANT TO CONVEY) AFTER THE DEFENSE COUNSEL AND PROSECUTOR CONDUCT THE PRE-TRIAL AND DEFENSE COUNSEL ADVISES THE COURT AS TO HOW THE DEFENDANT WISHES TO PROCEED THE DEF WILL BE CONVEYED BACK FOR ANY FURTHER PROCEEDINGS

It says that after the prosecutor and defense attorney conduct the pre-trial (fancy term for meeting) and the defense attorney tells the prosecutor how his client wants to proceed (trial, plea, ect.) then the judge will order the subject to be transported back for further proceedings.

  9. Ive got some really rusted up SmittyBuilt rear number and side steps.. They are yours for free.. Come get them out of my yard!!

    Couple questions:

Are they salvageable like if I sand and paint them? Would they fit in back pack if I came down on the bike to pick them up?

    Thanks,

    John

  10. Type his name in your county's common please court website and see if it shows the indictment or you can always call the jail and ask. Call at night though they are usually less busy and will help you out more.

  11. So, from what John says, he IS still in jail!

I'm going to go back on an earlier post with this too.

If its a felony, when he was originally arrested on the charge more than likely he was just taken to the jail and booked in then released (in some cases bond is required depending on the charge and county) to await an indictment. Now I assume some time has passed since the original date he was picked up and a grand jury has indicted him and a judge issued an arrest warrant. Indictment warrants are the big boys that are usually state and federal pickup, and in our county the U.S. Marshall fugitive task force serves a lot of them.

In a nutshell: Chances are he just got picked up (on the indictment) and the justice ball is about to start rolling through the court system.

  12. It is an order from a judge to the county sheriff to transport a prisoner without question.

Think of it like this: If the county sheriff transports someone for the court without a warrant he doesn't get paid. When a sheriff has a warrant to convey (or even an arrest warrant for that matter) he gets to claim time and mileage for his deputies to do the transport and gets reimbursed by the court - which is ultimately paid for by the defendant via court costs.

Hope this helps, I did have like 4 paragraphs typed out with a few common reasons they are used but my browser froze. This is the short and sweet version, if you need anything else PM me.

  13. The cones were offset in the BMV test in Hilliard when I took it 3yrs ago.

And I'm pretty sure they still are' date=' I live near there, I'll check the lot markings next time I go by.

I listed a link in POST #9 of this thread that shows the entire test in Hilliard (as of 3yrs ago).[/quote']

They still are, the test is the same ALT-MOST.

  14. what tj parts do you need?

I need a factory drivers side step or both aftermarket steps, a hard top rear window motor, a soft top header - hard to explain but its the plastic piece that connects to the windshield when the soft top is up. I wouldn't mind swapping out some other aftermarket parts if they were available and cheap, but above is what I need.

    Thanks,

    John

  15. The cones are off set its 12' x 2'. I have a scooter I rent to people taking the test at a few local BMV test sites so I am out there just about every Saturday morning, and I'm in instructor of the BRC. The testing process is different during the BRC it is more in depth and longer. The BMV is four stages, two of which contain multiple "events" (the sharp left and the controlled stop, and the off set weave and the u-turn). The webbike link above is the exact test given by the Ohio BMV check it out.
