    Nikon d5000?

Don't take my word... http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Nikond5000/page33.asp The contrast based af is only on live view. Live view is a gee-whiz feature that doesn't affect most photographers. Only a complete twat would use live view on any camera at a track day...

11 pt. AF, with the AF-S lenses, are going to focus much better than past generation set ups. My problem with the D40-D60 was the 3 segment focusing. That has been addressed. Add to that a 4fps fire rate, and it should be fine. Will it compete with a D300 or D700? Will it compete with a 50D or a 7D? Not at all. Will it compete with the XS, XSi favourably? Very much so. It's closest to the T1i, but cheaper.

It's all bundled up and heading your way. Use it in good health!
  4. Got it made- toys whenever you want... Heh! Then I'll have a chance on the straights with you.

  5. Thank you again, SJC. I got you a Christmas Gift, and a lunch is in order too. Looking forward to the beginning of track day season. Cheers! rfm

The kit is a 18-55, and a 55-200. Good focal range, and perfectly suitable for outdoor track photography. Low light, it's a bit sketchy though. Have to remember the flash is only good for about 7-15 feet too. I shoot Nikon, starting with the first generation D100, D70, D200, D300, and D700. The girl I work with shoots Canon (5D Mk II), so I'm familiar with the two main line ups. Anybody is welcome to ask a question or two as well. Hopefully I was able to help you with your questions, Brandon. Cheers! Rfm

Hey Brandon. I'm a professional photographer and I manage a Cord Camera. If you are interested, I can give you all the details on the camera, and see what you might need. I'm guessing it's the 18-55VR, and the 55-200VR. The camera is a positive step from the D60. If you are interested, drop a message, and I'll get my phone number to you. RFM, aka Aprilia Guy

Very Helpful all. Just got a PS3 for my girlfriend, and didn't get any cables. Looks like I have another stocking stuffer to get her. Cheers-

I took two wet sessions, and then called it in. They combined I and A for the afternoon's final sessions. I decided against pushing my luck though, after a slip in the big 3 apex turn. I have your batteries and charger too. Have to figure out hot to get them to you. Cheers- r

  15. Good times out there. I have your batteries and charger, VW- can get those to you anytime. That assfault junkies van was my ride. Style... I did the novice to intermediate- and for me it was a good move. Hadn't done a track day in three years, plus a new bike, plus a new track. They seperated the skills in N, and I only had three sessions with an instructor. Showed the line, kept with him, and then he let me go with the instructions not to pass instructors on the right, and give the others six feet. Done, and the riding was faster than I on the next day. Record day for wrecks on Saturday. 20- as people couldn't come to terms with the first left turn after the front straight. Brake markers were well placed though, and it was mostly the I and A class that did that the first day. Second day it cleared out when the rain came. I did three sessions in the rain, but ended it there. Much better surface than mid ohio in the wet, that's for sure!!! Blistered the tyres, didn't sleep, and Bob snores. Good time!
  16. Packing the Nunchucks right now, and as always, bringing the Ninja skills. Got my eye on you... It WILL be sunny and upper 60's.
  17. Besides, Haga got the bike all sorted for Spies...
  18. They did in the US since 00.5. Just the Infrastrcture was bollocks. They haven't been in the top in Masterbike (even with the 1000 twins) for putting out shite.
  19. It's about time the rest of the world figured out what Don, Jeremy, and I all knew. Aprilia puts out a fine bike...
  20. Just showin' we're all human. This guy might have done a stupid thing or two, but haven't we all?
  21. I was in a hurry to get my new master cylinder out of the box, and my daughter's nail file was close at hand. Reinforced shipping tape, and a good pull towards myself with a wife-beater on. Nobody but me could do that...
  22. Sounds like fun. Be busy givin' da biznis before I leave for SC. Keep safe! Oh, and the Elevator's Winter was very good, but didn't seem too potent yesterday.
