How far does a person need to go from applying the rear brake, to skidding, to transitioning to the ground, to sliding. At 55mph. 20 feet? And that still has a good amount of forward motion.
I bit the bullet too. Novice on Saturday, and Intermediate on Sunday. New track, new bike, three years since my last non-wet track day. I'll have the race line worn into my head by the next day. Looking forward to it.
Personally, I'm a fan of having the girlfriend with me, plus a coked up hot stripper trying to liberate a dollar from me by way of her boobs to my face.
Wasn't my question at all. Maybe I should have said, "How the hell do you flipping think that sliding a bike on it's side after slamming the rear brake is a good way to stop?":o
Helibars. Even on my Falco I opted for an extra 1 1/2 rise. On the old RSVR the position was even more brutal. Helibar'd that too, and it was fine for a trip to the Dragon and back, plus a good number of passes to make the trip worthwhile.
I grew up on Harley's. My brother is even the head mechanic locally, so it's not a Harley bashing attempt. Just heard that many times. Knowing how well a bike slides, and how effective a brake is- just curious why I do keep hearing that.
