Triumph Customer Service - I Couldn't Believe It!
TRMN8TR replied to katanafreak's topic in Daily Ride
If the dealer is giving you crap about it, call Triumph USA directly and speak to someone in their customer service department. They are usually more helpful than the dealers themselves. Customer Service: (888) 283-5288 -
Triumph Customer Service - I Couldn't Believe It!
TRMN8TR replied to katanafreak's topic in Daily Ride
I've also had pretty good luck so far with all my dealings with Triumph. I bought a salvage title Street Triple that had been wrecked. It had the Arrow/Triumph rearsets on it, and the footpeg was broken off and a couple spacers and washers were missing as well. I was having a hard time finding the part numbers for the spacers so I called Triumph USA to see if they could help. They were unable to find a part number either, so they offered another solution. They sent a set of the rearsets to my local dealer and let me steal the footpeg, spacers, and all the washers free of charge. Then they just told the dealer to send it back as "missing parts." I thought that was pretty cool of them. The only time they've let me down was when they wouldn't fix jbots "certificate of destruction" titled, stripped down trackbike under warranty. It was worth a shot though.... -
I actually ordered one from both STG and RD. I ordered the RD one first not realizing they didn't have it in stock and it probably won't be in till Friday. That doesn't give me enough time. So then I got one from STG. So if either of them screw up and send me the wrong one I will call and yell FUUUUUCCCCKKKKK.

I ordered one from STG yesterday and I think they got it sent out. It should be here Wed or Thurs at the latest.

I always used those on my dirt bikes and atv's but never on a street bike. You're not supposed to, don't know all the reasons why but I'm sure 160+ mph and way more hp/tq than any dirt bike has a lot to do with it.

Pandarrr is all fixed up, and loaded in the trailer. Hollywood dropped his bike off at my house Sunday and it's loaded up too. My bike is pretty much ready, but waiting on a new master link to show up to see if I replace the swingarm or not so I can have spools on both sides. If not I'll load it up and have to use the stand that lifts from the spool. My goal is to leave Cleveland by 2 at the latest, pick up Hollywood in C-Bus, and we'll be on our way. Hopefully checking in to the hotel by no later than 9-10.

I still have an open trailer spot....

Starting An Ohio Petition To Legalize Lane-splitting - Need Your Help!
TRMN8TR replied to DerekClouser's topic in Daily Ride
I'm all for it. If it gives me another option to legally bypass a stop n go traffic situation or not be sitting at the end of a long line of stopped cars then it's a good thing. -
Hmmm... http://m.theatlanticcities.com/commute/2013/03/do-texting-bans-really-prevent-fatal-accidents/5104/ Seems like maybe he was right. Although I don't think anyone should text/drive at all, clearly trying to hide the phone where a cop couldn't see it and having to look way down to see what you are reading/texting is much more distracting than holding it up by the steering wheel in plane view so you can quickly glance at it and then right back to the road.

Too much. Don't do it, its not worth it.

The Photo's by Marty Vagisil ZX6R has plenty of sponsorship money coming in I guess.

I'm thinking the same thing. Or 2 small bridges at either end of those diamonds to allow cars to go under/over and get rid of the stop lights. Anyone suggesting the old clover leaf has obviously not seen the volume of traffic going through that area. They just spent a shit tone of $$ at the northern intersection of 270/71 to get rid of a clover leaf and put in some big ass bridges. It's pretty cool and flows much better now.

Also I've never been to Putnam, just saw they have garage spaces. Is it worth it? How many can you fit in a garage? If I'm taking 4 bikes in the trailer it would be nice to leave the generators at home.

If we all go and help and no one rides he's not going to need any help.

Driving or flying to Chicago? Have one of us load your bike and gear and when you're done in Chicago drive down to Indy. Problem solved.
-
Whaaaa? Why drive all the way out and not ride?

Ok who's in for round 5? We need to come out and show support for Todd and Moto Series, or we won't be racing at this track next year. So let's start planning the details. If you have an open trailer spot, you're looking for a trailer spot, etc, post it up. I can fit 4 bikes in my trailer and I believe I have 1 open spot left. (Hollywood, am I taking your bike?) if anyone else in the Cleveland area wants to fill that spot, let me know. I have that Friday as a vacation day so we can get loaded and head out there. Trackday Saturday and racing Sunday, and home by Sunday night. If you're thinking Putnam is too far, nk140 says man up and quit being a pussy. He drives 6 hours to every Nelson round all by himself!

They put a huge warning sticker on the aftermarket windscreens warning that this could happen if left in direct sunlight for a long time. Not Triumph's fault, why should they pick up the tab?

Ya my last 2 years were pretty crash-free. Not sure what's going on this season, but I gotta get it figured out. The 2 times I went down that I lost the front, it just had no feel and I didn't know it was coming. As far as Putnam I know I want to make it out. I've had Friday scheduled off of work for awhile now so I can get an early start to head out there. Never been to the track so I'll need to get as much practice in as possible.
-
Probably not when you have an aftermarket windscreen on it that caused the damage. Unless you want to try and scam them and put a stock windscreen back on.

Hey congrats to you Ryan on bringing home some hardware. And thanks for helping turn wrenches on the bike. Same to Jeff and Craig and everyone else that lent a hand trying to get me back out on the track for the last race only to run out of time because the race started early. Despite my crashes this year I've still had fun. I don't blame anyone but myself for todays incident, someone went down in front of me and I over reacted to try and change my line. In hind sight, if I would've done nothing I probably would've made it through ok.
