  1. Haven't checked maps/routes or anything like that, how far away is the meeting point? Would it be worth trailering? I was a fan of when we trailered to Bolivar...call me a pussy but the trip back on the highway always sucked.
  2. Anytime, and look into that valve in the exhaust too before you blow that thing up!
  3. I know there is a drag racing forum, but I figured it would get the attention of more track day riders in here. Some of us were discussing practicing race starts, and the drag strip would be a good place to do that. It'd also be fun to go as a group so there would be more bikes to race against and better opportunities for smack talking. I'm thinking of going either this coming Wed or the next. They have "Grudge Racing" at Thompson and its only $12 from 5-8:30. Basically, run as many times as you can get in. Anyone else?
  4. Just go out there in Intermediate as soon as possible and then do your best to try and keep up with the faster riders. Ask GrapeSmuggler, it worked great for him!
  5. Are tickets still for sale? I'd like to get one if so.
  6. Ya, do you want to sell me your rain tires?
  7. Damn you...I was gonna buy these!
  8. How'd the day go? Wish I could've made it but I just had too much going on. Haven't been home for more than a few hours in almost 3 weeks. Instead of riding I got my mower fixed, grass cut, engine from a parts bike sold/crated, 5 loads of laundry done, house cleaned up, and fallen trees cut up. Man I wish I would've been at the track today... But now I'm relaxing in the hot tub with a 6 pack, all is well.
  9. Sometimes getting out there and doing it is the best way, but this is not one of those times. I don't personally know your pace, but at nelson the min for "passing" race school is 1:30. I just did race school at the last track day and my best times there are in the 1:19's. That is at the very slow end of an advanced pace. Any slower than that and you will wind up being in the way of the faster riders, which can be unsafe. Hence the reason they separate us at track days. learn what you can in novice and bump up to intermediate when you're ready. Besides, they tell you in race school that its not about teaching you to go any faster but just to race safely. And if you do pass that is just a provisional license, you don't get the real one until you race your first race and do it safely. So I would just wait until you are actually ready to do a race. Just my long winded 2 cents.
  10. Haha ok, so everyone will tell you I'm a stand-up guy, or as much as one can be seeing that I'm a soul-less ginger and all that kind of stuff. Now who wants to buy this thing?
  11. Actually the "tailgate" part comes off, and you use the boards for the ramp. If loading an atv, lawnmower, or whatever else with 4 wheels you can split the 2 boards for double ramps.
  12. I thought for sure this was going to be a "gay Prius" comment...
  13. Thanks for the bump, pics are up.
  14. Also didn't want to race in the 40mph wind gusts they were calling for. And...I was busy.
  15. Thinking about heading to this one. Need to get some parts sold off this parts bike I just picked up though.
  16. Signed up for the trackday saturday. Probably won't be able to make friday night due to work, and I'm going to sign up to race sunday if the weather looks ok. Don't want to have my first race in the rain.
  17. Just bought an enclosed trailer and selling my trusty utility trailer. It's old, not sure of the year but I'll check the title when I get home. (Yes, in PA where I grew up you have to title trailers) It's a heavy-duty SOB, and has actual useful space of 6x8. Has a tailgate that comes off and can be used for loading a bike or split and used to load atv's. It's main purpose in life was as an atv trailer, and so the side rail can come off and 2 atv's load from the side no problem. Not sure of the width of some of these modern gigantor 4x4's, but it fit 2 400ex's and a dirt bike no problem. Just had wheel bearings replaced, the tires on it are the "snowmobile" trailer type that are wide and 10" rims. Tread is ok, but tires are older. Has a spare that holds air but I wouldn't trust it to get me anywhere but to the nearest tire store. Special OR price of $400 as-is. If I don't get any bites I'm going to throw some paint and new tires on it and go to Craigslist for $500.
  18. Haha, I laughed. $150 for a giant though, kinda steep
  19. I don't think he has the pictures from Saturday up yet though. Usually they'll be up around Wed.
  20. No monies for me. I did see who I believe is a deceased great aunt on the list though. Maybe she left behind a family fortune????
  21. Is your girlfriend hawt? If so, please stay at home. Thanks!
