This is the way to save space on a compressor. Strip the plastic off and rewire it so it's on when you plug it in. If you don't have a aux plug but use a trickle charger this is the ticket. Used to find them at walmart for $3. It can attach right to the pig tail on your trickle charger cord attached to the battery.

Mechanic friend told me early on, any time you do maintance try to do it out of the tools on the bike. Simple reason is it will teach you what you do and don't need and also you'll learn the limitations of the tools you carry. Also think about getting some assorted bolts and nuts in sizes that your bike uses. Saved my butt a week ago when the rear break lost a bolt. I happened to have a bolt and nut that fit and was able to ride the rest of the day on it.

Don't forget replacement fuses.

Nice work. That cheap pot metal is light but breaks easy. With it home you might consider drilling the end and mounting a spring loaded toe piece like dirt bikes have.
-
Take the bike and tear it down, then remove the tires, then replace the pugs, pull all the fuses and all the bulbs. NOW put it all back together, make a list of all the tools you used and all the materials you had to replace during this. That's what you need to get at harbor freight and make fit under your seat. Tools are no good if you don't know how to use them on your bike.

Or one of these

This one any better? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntZG7dWpPEs I'd like to use popular music but since I'm in revenue sharing it's no dice. So I make my own songs. Some people like them some don't so I also do some acoustic videos.

Many dual sports are more comfortable than sport bikes on super slab trips because of seating position. Biggest highway drawback is they are tall and get buffeted around more near trucks and in high winds. But as my friends who rode to Yellowstone and Steamboat on a KLR and XR650 would say, "It can be done". Don't worry soon you'll feel like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gci-_kk5uQ

It's a great bike if your tall. I'm 6'4" and have a 1" lift on mine just to give you an idea. They are straight forward tech and can do 50mpg cruising at 55mpg. Not a fan of the new KLR (08'+) to many stories of oil burning issues compared to the old style like mine. Plus the new KLR is a single cyclinder DL650 for the most part.
-
Yeah, get a KLR 650! Just make sure it's pre08'. Die hard bikes that go on and off road. Will do highway speeds and are cheap. Mine new: now: They are a die hard bike that doesn't conform to the mold. People know better than to screw around with someone riding a big dirt bike looking thing.

OX Bow road around Hoover on the west side used to be the spot. I also used to fish the river below the dam there. Aside from that there are some deep pools along the Rocky Fork creek, or at least there were 15 years ago that held some 10-16 inch rock bass and perch. With all the houses around those areas it has damaged a lot of the small streams and destroyed the farm ponds that used to be all over the place around New Albany. Sad to say I wouldn't eat a fish from Ohio waters anymore. And that's the only reason I used to fish. Kind of like hunting deer when they're inedible, what's the point?

Just three stocks so that it's simple and 100,000 so we don't get stocks like google and apple. It's just a game / exercise because I'm curious as to what people would do. Right now a lot of people are keeping the 100,000 and doing nothing because of the market volatility. However, I believe that the average person can successfully play the market with a little attention and pier feedback . As A side note I'm down $70 for the day. I am hopeful that the market will find it's footing Monday as it is not uncommon for people to jump ship over the weekend in a volatile market. I also noticed FB held around the $28 mark all afternoon. A sign it has hit bottom and is ready to stabilize till some real numbers are released?

Well you can always post results here and others can use it to track their investments/ bets. As for what TMCGRAW said, this may be true but just like managing price differences at the grocery store a understanding of math allows you to evaluate the indices used in stock marketing. The psychology, history and socioeconomic understanding allows for predictions on the future rise or fall from the indices. Kind of like counting cards.
-
If you don't know math, stay out of the market. Besides this is just for fun and as a smaller group will make it easier to follow. Just an idea, maybe a bad one.

Time for a financial game.... Place your bets! The Wall street world is closer to Vegas than you think! So pick a horse and place your bet. Don't worry the money isn't real and all you win or lose if face. You choose 1000 shares of three stocks under $100,000 today (DOW fell 200+) and see where it goes. So I'll start: Stock FB 1000 Buy at 27.75 = $27750 JPM 1000 Buy at 32.00 = $32000 FTR 1000 Buy at 3.50 = $3500 cash remaining $36750 I can sell any of these stocks later and use the cash to buy a more expensive stock, but can only hold 3000 shares at any one time. Now let's see where I am as time goes by...... Anyone else Wanna Play?

Welcome I ride a Dl1000 but am closer to Springfield area.

When we went west I took I70 to Indy then split off on 74N to 61 and then 30 thru Grand Mound. At Denison we took 141 to I-29. You could easily head South to 80 and head right into Denver. unfortunately there is no truly exciting rout west that I have ever head of.

Well, given you're tall and want a functional bike for weekend rides and work there are a number of bikes you should be able to fit and handle. A 250-400 cc bike will really make the most out of the gas but are best suited for speeds under 65mph, normally.(There are always exceptions) But if your SO is a good teacher you might be best to skip up to the 650 cc class of bikes. As Pokey said the Suzuki DL650 (Wee Strom) might be a best bet as it has good MPG, is more stable and are very bullet proof. They are considered a dual sport or adventure bike but look like a sport bike on steroids. Price wise they are in the $7000 new range. I assume you'll want something similar to what the hubby has. So, what does he ride?
-
There are tons of bikes to try but the most important thing will be Your Comfort and ability to handle the bike. Since you have all summer to look do some weekend trips to different dealerships and see what you like. If you are between 5'8" and 5'10" you will find the world of motorcycles is your oyster as many bikes are made to that size range. As for style of bike the cruiser is typically lower to the ground and has a lean back seating position. The dual sport or adventure bikes have superior suspension and a more up right seating position. Sport bike's specialize in performance based speed and handling and are an aggressive forward seating position. The big question is "what do you wanna be able to do with the bike?"
-
Well, with no wife or kids the time is easier to find. All I have is my dogs and they are always happy to see me. I just wish I had more $$$ so I could afford the replacement parts for the parts I break on my rides.

Oh, yes. There is a shorter rock version too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntZG7dWpPEs
