  1. In that case I'd really head to the sierra place if it's close to you and check out that KLX250. It is powerful enough to move you at 65mph, has suspension enough for your weight, should be comfortable for your height and is light enough to make most off road experiences enjoyable without being a monster to pick up when you pick the wrong line in the rocks or sand. It is the type of bike that you can grow into, work on and yet enjoy for many years.
  2. Did you forget the YZ426 and KTM950? Only bikes I have that wheelie on demand past first gear.
  3. Ever ridden off road? A super moto will do off road but the smaller front tire makes it less stable on dirt. Plus they use street tires not knobbies. That KLX 450 will be a power machine. My yz 426 would be great fun for a skilled rider out there but not good for long drives on road in 100 degree temps. It would also kill a unskilled rider pretty quick. Go visit the dealership and try this... http://www.sierracycles.com/showcaseproductdetail.htm?ID=17312483&Brand=20&Type=1787&fm=1 or this http://www.sierracycles.com/showcaseproductdetail.htm?ID=17639364&Brand=35&Type=1787&fm=1
  4. Depends on the setup. I have a friend with a KLX250 who's ridden the thing to Maine and back. How big are you? Height weight? Off road experience? Types to terrain? Big rocks, deep sand, mud, hard packed passes, chip and pave? It makes a difference. For a 200 lb guy, at 5'11" a DR200 will feel like a mini bike and maybe do 55mph. The same guy will have good power and suspension on a CRF250. Go to some dealers and sit of some bikes to get an idea of what is comfortable. In the $4000 price range you should have a lot of options in used bikes.
  5. Wow, almost identical to what I told him.
  6. Pulling the bar to your chest is not to help get the front up so much as keep you from leaning back and going over backwards. It is more important when you are standing on the pegs as your weight is higher.
  7. Yeah, just issues keeping it under 100mph.
  8. Like I said this is for a functional wheelie not a stunters wheelie. So yeah, best used on the trail or to traverse a pot hole, rut or something in the road. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVJ_6tb4Xgc
  9. No, I'm no stunter. This is a functional guide for lightening the front wheel or popping a wheelie to get over an object. If the stunters wanna give away there balancing act secretes, go for it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsF3ge1HxpE
  10. Can I use your bike?
  11. Here is the proof you can be up the creek without a paddle as long as you have your KLR650. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2W_LQZw2dac
  12. Today was awsome in Ohio! 70+ Degrees in March? It can stay like this the rest of the year! Amungst my other riding today I decided to do some new trail blazing. KLR Style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6XoJTSLyME
  13. I think he means Holy Caveman. I assume he wasn't there but I only recognized two riders. Then stop riding with flip flops and a wife beater t-shirt.
  14. The further Adventures of Buildit and Benly. As close to a Steve Irwin movie as I can get without violating copyright laws. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4djX_kd-8w
  15. The further Adventures of Buildit and Benly Sorry the narration has some weird background noise from my computers fan running I think. More dual Sport humor from the trails. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4djX_kd-8w
  16. Got to love a guy who sticks it out all day, he was the last Man Standing........ errr falling. *:D He went everywhere I did on the 950 super enduro and pushed the 650 to keep up on the gravel, almpst missing one corner. He's got heart! * Pandor did good on his XT225 but had to leave early to make the wife happy or something like that. Great bunch of guys and great dat to ride in Ohio! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqcMZTYpeJY
  17. Friends don't let friends find mechanics on Craigs list. Seriously, ask people here. Get two or three people who have had a good experience and then contact the mechanic. I bet if you ask around here someone would be willing to help you reinstall the clutch right for a few beers. Otherwise save some money and take it to a good shop.
  18. Hate to sound like a broken record but I'm leading a group off road around Old Mans Cave area. Have a safe ride Greg.
  19. Just got home after filling up on pizza and cookies. Excellent set up IP, too bad people seemed to be coming and running back out the door. I saw one friend off ADV there and and he left before 6pm also. When I left there were maybe 20 people there and only a few arriving. If I was living in Columbus I'd head over and grab some food and Daytona on the jumbo tron. Maybe if a bunch show up they will do something like this again? So a pair of tour master winter riding pant with hip and knee protection for $99, cookies, pizza (Not just cheese but 7 different types from Donatos) and mtn dew. IP really went all out. Hats off.
  20. Hey, I'm at IP right now and folks just finished off like 14 pizzas and they say more are on the way. So if you on the wall about coming, get the hell off the wall and get some free pizza and a drink.
  21. Check out the whole channel. Nothing too shocking just wonder why people would display all their toys like he is. Seems like inviting pandora.
  22. Now I know we have our rights and stuff but is it just me or is this the sort of U tube stuff that gets red flags all over FBI head quarters? http://www.youtube.com/user/RockyMountainPrepper?email=subscription_create If you're going to go all SHIF prepared keep it on the QT otherwise your just advertising for uncle sam to visit.
  23. Yeah, the only thing the dip sticks are doing is plugging up the flow in the pipeline.
  24. See and I thought it was because of a bunch of greedy politicians, commodity traders and towel heads.
