    Gear Whore

    Did I touch a nerve?
  3. Oh yeah! Drive a car thru the woods I ride in and tell me which vehicle had the bigger impact. That car will impact trees, the ground, rocks....

    Gear Whore

A little Dual Sport Comedy I put together but I'm sure some road riders cans associate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zD3wD2x2DI
  5. No, I'm not reinventing the wheel. I had some new gear from IP and thought I'd shoot a how to on making a dirt helmet better for dual sport use. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jea5Bhq4vsk
  6. Most of this is the end of my time at deals gap but after the 5:00 mark it shows some of the other roads heading up 129 to 40 and then 25W which parallels I-75. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQEqoMUfa1s If you do go straight down I75, I'd suggest 25W as an alternate. Just watch your GPS for towns along it, they can be very busy and full of idiots townies who'll putter along a -15 from the speed limit. Have a safe trip
  7. I am about to do something evil. . . . . . . . Best pick up line.................. Dodge
  8. My friends all like taking US 23 South into the smokies.
  9. Best pickup line I've ever had was, "Hi, I'm rich, own a fast bike, have a 10 incher and party in a different State every night, wanna come?" Works great till they find out, my name is Rich, my 10 speed is parked outside, the 10 incher is the height of my dog and the states I'm most often in are those of confusion, denial and inebriation.
  10. I guess I should link the pay it forward thread about now. http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=82854
  11. I have one in the strom for 3 years now. No issues, catches everything, easy to clean and reoil.
  12. Thanks, it just worked out so well that Casper had those helmets and I knew someone in need. I think the thread worked well and is proof that all this bandwidth isn't wasted on which oil is best threads.
  13. Does K&N make a filter for the KTM 950SE yet? Last I looked there weren't any.
  14. and his caliper isn't attached because his bolts fell out. I offered to help but they said the kids had to get to football practice. They have my #.
  15. This is why I suggested getting to know people first. Sam lives to ride and skull fuck those who say dumb shit.
  16. The one had a "stupid hurts" sticker on his. Heck, I need an OR sticker first!
  17. odd, he said the same thing about you. Honestly this wasn't anyone throwing themselves in front of a train but from a small gesture I think he made a big difference for those kids.
  18. Simple story. With the addition of the thread for used gear and free to a good home, I was able to hook up with Casper about two kids size helmets he had. The helmets weren't for me but for some kids on the street who are learning to ride on some pit bikes but only had one helmet between them. It's stuff like this that should make everyone feel good about being associated with Ohio Riders. Simple actions making a big difference! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCKk8wXoDYc
  19. well, first. Door run is wayne I think so that is federal dicks slamming your money around. two, I was surprised they HAVE added trails at Richland compared to what was there in 09'. It's all give and take,..... I mean take and take. Thanks for the kind words and I hope we get to ride some time.
  20. A stream of silt and mud runoff from a logging site we rode thru today near Tar Hollow. It was amazing how large the flow was and even more amazing the bottom where the dirt road surface was still solid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfoPCfEqca8
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LOLoPpxYR8 I hope to make these reviews a regular feature on my U tube site. If you like these reviews feel free to click on sponsors who's adds show up. It will help me pay for these reviews and other riding related videos I do. Thanks, Buildit
  22. Well there was only one taker for my ride today, but what a great time we had. Trent is a new to dual sport rider but obviously not new to riding. Trials and dirt rider and a good one too from the way he was handling the GS650 Dakar, also new to him. He's a lurker but hopefully he'll figure out you guys are not as bad as me and post a bit. :lol3 After a day of riding the "milky-est", only way to describe it, slop ever, going over some new ground, riding all of Richland Furnace which apparently has expanded and was basically empty minus some locals, then exploring some new trails, my speedo cable must have caught on a branch because this was what was left. :eek1 A great ride, good partner for the day to ride with and other than 51 degree ride down, perfect weather!
  23. Two issues I've found with them is 1. the set screws can make the tapered piece shift which is why I only tighten the rings outside the springs. 2. The set screws can dent the center bar causing the rod to not roll evenly across the outer bearings. Of course this is knowing that the bearings in the wheel are perfect. Now I don't do this every day but I'd rather double check by checking the weighted spot 3 times. Oh and year should have been annotations on the video saying tape the weights to the rim before attaching them.
  24. Thanks to C&C Automotive in Xenia for the use of their motorcycle tire balancer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHw6I6v-fnk
  25. Sure, hell I walk into show rooms and kick those over and it doesn't bother me one bit.
