  1. I think they saved the fire department millions by not saving him. Think of the lawsuit he could have filed for being rescued by untrained firemen? At least there was a bystander there to swim out and bring the dead body back so it didn't pollute the whole ocean! PETA would have cried baby whales if that happened.
  2. I have velcro shoes to avoid all of this BS. Plus I don't have to worry about my laces getting caught in the bike chain and such.
  3. Sounds like a catch 22. When the owner gets out you know he will show up someday and want his bike, reguardless of how long he was gone or lien on bike. You've put time and $$$ into the bike and don't wanna lose out. Depending on what sort of asshole the owner is, the lien idea sounds like the best option. Or take the parts and pieces equal to the amount you have invested into it and then surrender it to the police as an abandoned vehicle. Hell, for all you know it was stolen to begin with.
  4. Don't stay at Fontana if you have dogs with you. I think they wanted almost $400 of which 300 was a security deposit. We slept in the van instead.
  5. Apparently to feed it to rodents.
  6. Pryor and the other players did what they did with only their own benefit in mind. JT at least has the appearance of doing what he did for the sake of the team. Right or wrong JT had respect for more than just winning games.
  7. Who's worse? Lindsay "Lowhand" and Brit-nay Spears or their parents? Poor analogy I'm sure but you get the idea. The people committing crimes are guilty of breaking the law, and those who try to hide or help hide it are guilty of complicity. Which crime is worse?
  8. Left arm belongs to a mexican and the right to an albino?
  9. Like I used to tell my X's kid. If you just have to do stupid shit, at least be smart enough to not get caught. When you get caught everyone thinks your a criminal and an idiot. And their right.
  10. Lets face it guys, as long a sports figures are hailed as heros, make millions of dollars in the pros and allowed to act like immature children with loaded guns, the college and high school situation with players will continue. It is the rare athlete who truly displays physical ability and moral ability. As to Tressel's abilities, I think he did very well keeping a bunch of spoiled brats in line, making the university happy and maintaining a college program that could win games.
  11. Does spray on orange count?
  12. Got to start somewhere I guess. I thought I had a good base tan from being in NC but I guess not. Or at least not that far up my arm.
  13. Having gone to OSU I have to say the players are in a huge spot light, some handle it better than others. College football is supposed to be on the same level as Olympic sports with athletes not being paid for performance or status. A hard thing to control given our society and the financial situation of many of the players families. It will be interesting to see if it's true since other rummers of his leaving were false.
  14. Unless you are using synthetic $10 is more than twice what Valv 10W40 4 cycle oil costs. I do like the Amsoil in my KTM and just started using Mobil Synth 4 Cycle in the Vstrom. But the V had 20W50 Valvoline of the first 29,000 miles with perfect running.
  15. Nice work, bike looks good. Rubber side down, eyes on the road and have fun.
  16. $10? Where you buying oil? Iron pony is expensive for store brand oil. Try mejiers or auto zone. Just my humble opinion, spending big $$$ for oil in a non high performance bike is a waste of money. Regular 3000 mile oil changes for normal riding and more often for dusty or wet conditions will serve your bike better.
  17. V storms drop lighter than cruisers because of all the plastic. Glad your both okay.
  18. It's a 250, you can run about anything in there. Personally I'd use 10W40 4 cylinder oil like Valvoline. As for an oil filter K&N if you feel rich but again anything will work.
  19. Dam, I thought you were being sarcastic.
  20. I totally understand. Heavy city traffic can be scary enough in a car, but there are tricks to make it safer. You can always wait for a bit to leave. I find Columbus traffic will often surge right at the top of the hour and lighten a little 15min after. Also be aware of filling the whole lane. Following a left or right of center line can make drivers assume they can use that empty space. Last, make yourself visible and turn your head to look, don't trust the mirrors (also helps driver see your intention to change lanes). To increase you presence, move around on the bike and act aggressive (not stupid but not like a Sunday cruiser rider either). You can also try to link up with other riders in traffic and shadow them to increase you footprint.
  21. good stuff! That is a classic photo.
