  1. Well I spoke with the owner of the trumpie and told him that if hes still got it this spring ill buy it.I started doing reveiws on the sprint. the older ones(pre 02) weren't so hot. but I found 02 and up with 90k+ on them! Im in the saving a down payment process at this exact moment. The cbr paid off my credit card so now i have free'ed up some extra cash to set aside

  2. I will have to check into that, but i don't think I am quite ready to make the step to an ape yet. sorry don! I keep coming back to the sprint and the gladius. I love the f4is, but I dont want a used one, and a new one has sat far to long, along with the left over 919 I looked at.

  3. Doing alittle research on the problems with the 955i engine I find this. In 2002 they changed a few things.

Triumph fixed the few bugs that the earlier 955 engines had which didn't crop up that often in any case. The worst was the alternator bearings self destructing and sending the shrapnel into the lower case and transmission sump. They moved the alternator to the end of the crankshaft and all the related bearing and drive assembly was removed completly. That's also why the 2002 and newer engines are quieter sounding at idle. They made them shift better at that time also. The extra 10HP with the new Lotus designed head didn't hurt either. Although I bet most people can't really notice much difference.

  4. 650 v twin, derived from the sv650. 66-68 hp and 63 ft lbs of torque. How would this compare to my f3? My f3 had plenty of power for my liking, but 2 up it was miserable. I dont ride 2 up very often but I do like to take the lady for a ride from time to time.

  5. I couldn't agree more on the f4i. And that worries me. Unless I could get it for the right price, I don't think I would do it. Don, as far as the futura goes, its sexy. But as with the triumph parts worries me. Whats everyones thoughts on the all black gladius, besides the name because I think its shit. I have sat on a few of them and I keep coming back to it. I have always been a honda guy, and feel like id be doing somthing wrong switching but for some reason its grabbed me.

  6. Make sure all its gears work. From what a few guys have told me the old kawis were back about second gear going out in them. Just check the chain, the tires, see how the motor sounds. try to pick his brain alittle on the maintnence and see if he can give you any insight, on whats been kept up with, and make sure its somthing your comfurtable with and really like. Just use some basic mecanical sense also, you know if the frame looks cracked and been re welded or any non sense like that. stay away. Also check for a clean title or salvage or what.

  7. vfrs are alittle pricey,as is the maintence. I was reading awhile back and to have the valves checked and such it was in the 1200 dollar range. and as for the price on that f4i. Theres no way I would pay what they have marked on it. I would only purchase if it could be bought right.

  8. the st is classified as there touring bike. as for the f4i, Honda power sports in troy has a left over on the show room floor from 07. I would like a new or very low mileage bike. The gladius and the f4i, are both new. The st has 17k on it, but Ive known the owner for years and hes beyond meticulas.

  9. So I have been looking at a few different bikes. I was originally going to go naked standard, but I decided for the long trips I want to go on, I think I need full fairings. So now im looking at a triumph sprint st 955i, a left over f4i, and still the gladius. Whats your thoughts?
