The hero2 has a setting for hi/lo sound settings you want lo provided the 3 has it.

These work really well. I have seen a few activate at speed and they did their job. A few people that I race with own them and love them.

The stock gearing sucks also so not sure if you have messed with that at all. I had to use first gear at nelsons last time out so that will be changed very soon.
