Ok, yeah. I was just throwing a number out there. Actually the harley I was looking at was between 10-12k and most used MS go for about 6k or so so it was more like 2x. Anyway, I figured I'd do the MS because I like them, and I could use the extra money for accessories. I don't, by any means, disagree that HDs hold their value better. They do, well at least the bigger models.

I don't believe they were referring to the way the bike looks. I believe they are referring to the technology advancements they have. I watched a special on HDs a few months ago and they had alot of new technology built into the bikes. Unfortunately, I don't remember what they were anymore. I do remember thinking "damn that's pretty cool". I don't care what anyone rides, I looked at some Harleys when I bought my MS, but couldn't see paying 4x more for a machine that does the same thing. For some people it's about belonging to that clique. I do give Harley riders a hard time, because it's fun, and I do it jokingly. However there are some assholes out there on Harleys, but there are assholes on every type of bike....especially the sport bike riders. (If I offended you.....GOOD!! Grow some thicker skin!!)

Best bet is to come to Columbus and hit Iron Pony. Try some stuff on and see what fits the best. Keep track of what you liked, go back home and search the inter-webs for better prices. All the big brands (Alpine Stars, Icon, Joe Rocket) are awesome. The First Gear, Fieldsheer etc are also good. The gear works like anything else you get what you pay for. Although searching the web and using IP's discount section allow you to get more for your money. If you find a few things that interest you post them up and everyone will give their asshole err I mean opinion. Good luck
