  1. I had mine performed by Dr. Ho as well. he was a military doctor and said he has performed literally thousands of them. He was very quick. I was on on a Friday and back to work on a Monday. Have some frozen peas on hand, and a nice comfy chair. The first appointment will be a question and answer session. They want to make sure you really want to have the procedure. Yes they are reversible, but it's a little more work than cutting them is and I don"t believe insurance covers getting them repaired although I could be wrong. Just make sure this is what you want. Messing with your junk once is bad enough, if it had to be done again, I'd probably strangle someone. I had Cigna when I had mine done, and they covered everything but the co-pay. Good Luck.

  2. I spent several hours in the garage last night stripping off 2 layers of paint from the gas tank. It's almost ready to be dropped off at a friends house to be painted. I have some hand sanding to do and a little bondo work, but nothing major. Here is a pic from last night....

I really do dislike stripping paint.....

  3. We picked up an '82 Yamaha Maxim XJ550. I was really dirty, and needs some TLC but all in all it's not in too bad of shape. I removed the, the previous owner tried his hand at painting, and apparently needs a few more lessons. He sanded it down and went too far into the paint he just put on, so decided to just put a sticker over that part. The seat needs to be shaved down a bit for the wife to be a little more comfortable. The tank and seat will be out of here with in the next week. I ordered a new chain to replace the original from 1982. I ordered a petcock rebuild kit to fix the original petcock and remove the tractor supply rigged one. I ordered a starter relay because the original is acting up. New front wheel bearings, the originals are leaking heavily. I picked up some brake fluid and motor oil today, the oil and air filters are also on the way. I don't believe the air filter has ever been replaced. The oil in the sight glass looks very black. The previous owner said he did an oil change about 1000 miles ago. The bike runs well, other than the chain slapping around cause it needs tightened but the guy broke a tensioner bolt while trying to tighten it down. I have one of those on the way as well. I'll post of some pictures tomorrow. I spent a few hours today just cleaning and polishing to make sure I didn't miss anything. But it looks pretty good. Now the wife needs to go get her permit and I need to order her some gear.

  4. So I am looking for a cheap bike for her to learn on. I am going to go look at a 550 maxim this weekend. I am interested to see if she sticks with it. She still needs to get her permit, then sign up for a class. I'm not planning on helping too much unless she asks for it. I hope she enjoys it.

  5. I got the helmets yesterday, they were great thanks! I sent in a list of some items for the wife. She want's to start riding, so she needs some gear and next is a bike to learn on. Thanks again Nate!!

  6. I would try on Monday. I have gotten in touch with Nate everytime I have called. or you could email him the list and he will send you a quote back. I have ordered a few things in the last month or so and the transactions were very smooth, the items arrived in a very timely manner, and Nate was awesome. I have told several people in the last 2 weeks to call Nate if they need anything. I'll be picking up a new jacket in the next few months and he will be getting my order. Thanks RD and Nate.

  7. I love my Meanstreak, but bone stock it is not ideal for riding 2up. You would have to replace the seat with something more comfortable and a back rest. The mods are there, but there isn't a lot being produced anymore. Most of the power cruisers aren't going to be all that comfortable for a passenger. The M109r maybe, but you'll be hard pressed trying to find one in your price range. Same with the Raiders.

If you are just looking for something to go to dinner on or a poker run, the power cruisers would be ok with some mods, if you are looking for something to go on a decent trip, you'll have to look at baggers of some sort....

  8. I have a friend in PA that owns a lot of exotic animals, the police and federal agencies have him pick up seized animals. He was very much anti Ohio due to the very relaxed laws on buying and selling exotic and dangerous animals. I can't believe I am saying this but I agree with buildit and Pauly, how do you determine whether or not the person buying the animal is stable/responsible enough to own it. The other issue is people from out of state are able to come in and pick up animals they could not purchase or own in their state of residence and return home with them. Rich I have seen pictures of your animals and I believe you take very good care of them, and also have them properly contained, but not everyone is as responsible as you are.
