Just got my GoPro. TONS of accessories and cables. Camera tiny. I don't mind the code-based interface as I've been using this kind of thins for years. Nice image quality. Will have to attach it to the car and take it for a test run. I wouldn't use it as a permanent dashcam because it doesn't auto-turn-on, but it would be perfect for the helmet-cam thing. The dashcam on my bike is solidly mounted so you can only see in front of the bike - having the cam on my helmet makes it better to see all around.

What I don't understand is that guy got his leg crushed between a moving pickup and a moving bike - hard enough to knock the bike what looked to be about 30' (the the far corner of intersection?) and he has no broken bones, just needs to let it heal up. Then there's a guy I know who was riding his Harley through a parking lot at parking lot speed and was hit by a car pulling out of a parking space - and he lost his leg. When I made the raised footpegs for my son (will be 8yo in 3 weeks) I specifically made them higher than a car's bumper for THIS VERY REASON. If we get t-boned then his leg will not be pinned. Of course the rest of the accident is in God's hands, but at least that really obvious primary injury mechanism is avoided. (I have hards bags and engine guards, so I expect I'd be ok in a parking lot t-bone but would anticipate no real protection at road speed)

Do he indicate that he had a gun? Touch the muzzle to the victim's back? I would buy his argument that the one victim was oblivious to the presence of the gun ONLY if he had TWO gun 3-yr specifications (one for each victim). Then maybe he can try to argue that there should not be a gun specification oblivious victim. If he had a single specification then the second victim seeing the gun is enough. Regadless... I would argue that he still used the gun to facilitate the offense whether the second victim knew about it gun or not. That falls under the 3yr specification on it's own merits without the need for display, brandishing or indicating the presennce of the firearm. Need me to write an amicus brief? I'd kick ass and take names.

Stupid hunter. If he had take the time to look more closely and seen it was a doe. (I mean, it arrived in a Subaru Outback with Indigo Girls blaring on the radio - it was OBVIOUS!)

Cop: "Your honor, I caught the defendant driving 140mph through the school's construction zone while drinking Four-Loko, snorting coke, licking ecstasy off the back of his hands and ranting about tiger blood. When I pulled him over he said that I could never prove that he had 'hurt' the German Shepherd dog he married, and that he would post nude pics of the judge's daughter online if I arrested him. While I was using reasonable force to detain the subject (including fists, baton, taser, baseball bat with nails in it and 17 days of chinese water torture) he then went on to profess his desire that Westboro Baptist Church's leader Fred Phelps be the next president. After that he said he would fight to the death to provide all illegal aliens with a means to legally claim the entire personal fortune of any Citizen they wish as reparations for making taco jokes." Judge: "What do you have to say for yourself, Scruit?" Scruit: "I posted the video online and made half a million dollars, BITCHES!"

And it continues with no sign of slowing down... I think I need to find that cop and buy him a beer.

The pickup driver apparently gave false insurance details because the company he quote said they never heard of him.

EFFING HECK YEAH. I hate that about taps in England. The idea is you are supposed to fill thesink with water to use. But if you just want to wash your hands then you have to cup your hands under the the cold, then switch quickly between cold and hot until you get warm water cupped in your hands. Although you CAN buy US-style faucets if you want. They're not illegal.

No, they are saying that the government will step in. It's an anti-trust thing. No mention was made of that being right or wrong. (Although I didn't hear many people complain when Micorsoft's attempts to snuff out the OS and Browser competition were blocked by that same set of laws)

I know how hungry the youtube community are. Had to go digging for that video. Finally plucked it out of the archives and stuck it up there. That adsense money is nothing to sniff at.

I will say things when someone is creating a dangerous situation. Watched a kid drive down the front of Lowes right in between people in the crosswalk, texting. Window open. I can to take a couple steps back to avoid being hit, so when his window got level to me I yelled; "HANG UP THE PHONE!" Looked at me like I was gonna kill him, and drove away. Picking up my son from school some lady was parked in the fire lane (pickup lane is elsewhere). At night, totally dark, and she's blocking my view of kids stepping off the sidewalk. As I went to pass her car she started moving forward so I stopped, she stopped. I set off, she set off. This continued a couple of times before I realized that she had no clue I was there - she was on the phone. I set off again and damn near his a group of kids that walked right out from behind her SUV. By the time I got parked and walked back to the school she was still there. "Why are you parking in the fire lane?" "I'm picking up my daughter." "Passing cars can't see kids trying to cross the road!" "Excuse me?" "Park in that space there, it's only 30' away." "I have to park here to pick up my daughter." (Daughter comes running out and jumps in the car) "I'm picking my kid up too... You're not special." (She drove away) Or the guy driving through dublin yesterday... Bumper-to-bumper traffic, and this guy comes driving down the road left-of-center, passing all the backup. He got stuck right next to me and I let him have the benefit of my opinion. He looked at me like I just admitting to raping a puppy, then set off driving again - continuing left-of-center making oncoming cars swerve out of his way.

If a terrorist wanted to plant a bomb then they would likely use an object that blends in with the surroundings. A briefcase left at a train station would likely go unnoticed for a while.

Keep it unloaded with the ammo seperate. Place the shotgun in the trunk, or other location that you have to exit the car to get at. If you have a vehicle that doesn't have a trunk (wagon) then place the shotgun as far back as you can get it. If you have a pickup then consult with a cop or attorney. The intent of the law is to prevent someone from carrying a shotgun in a way that they can quickly access and use it.

I'll check. There is a "last 7 days" column that shows $308.

Back when I had the roadrage incident (also on youtube) there was a bit of footage I didn't publish... The trooper on scene demanded I turn off the dashcam. I complied, unsure of the law, but after the fact I had a sit-down with the city prosecutor and he said they have no power to compel the camera shut off unless it was interfering with his job. I also have one other nugget of gold... A video from the car's interior camera showing an auto tech on a test drive... picking his nose... and eating it.... I never posted it. I think I'll blur his eyes and then post it.
