  1. They've had motocycle paramedics in the UK for decades. Same reasoning. They can get to the scene faster through traffic than an ambulance.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOI9VvoaRJM Subaru with winter tires. Have yet to be defeated by snow in central ohio. My Bronco was worse in the snow - too much torque, and even in 4x4 you have to have the front diffs unlocked on dry pavement so when that one moment you need 4x4 comes along your front axles aren't helping. You can only really use true 4x4 when the road is ALL slick (or offroad). Need ARBs on my Bronco. AWD will get you going, but you're on your own for turning and stopping. AWD is good for wet too - it's almost impossible to spin the tires in the wet unless you do it on purpose. In the dry there is no spinning the tires - the clutch will slip before the tires too.
  3. Define fake? Lack of beyond-reasonable-doubt evidence is not proof that it's fake. Otherwise God would be considered fake. Does anyone have positive proof that is IS fake? (I *believe* it's an actual picture of a bad (but consensual) tattoo choice, with a juicy fake story added - but I can't prove it so I can't say it is definitely fake)
  4. Used to be in the UK you could get plates made up at the local auto parts store. When you tow a trailer you put the car's number on the trailer, so peopel who tow need to have a spare rear plate made. Cost was $15. (subsequently changed to require proof of license# by showing registration) I got UK front plates made up with my ohio number for a couple cars I had. Drove around with them fro about a month and finally just hung them up in the workshop because they got a lot of attention. Made my car too memorable. I'm content to disappear into the background when I drive so I was really uncomfortable sitting at a light and seeing all the people staring at my plate trying to figure it out. Plus, when I murder people during my regular violent road rage episodes I don't like witnesses to be able to describe any identifying features on my car. Unless you know Subarus well it's jsut a "Black car". No bumper stickers. P/o tinted and debadged it and I left it that way.
  5. I did pre-law then changed majors to an IT degree.
  6. There is precedent that clearly shows that demanding access to private communications is illegal. Here's a New Jersey case from a couple years ago where an employee was asked for social media login details "or else", then was fired because of private communication they discovered within that disparaged the employer. The court rules that there was no legitimate business reason for this, and therefore was a violation of the Federal Stored Communication Act. The employee was awarded lost wages and punitive damages. http://scholar.google.com/scholar_case?case=10596932099553696224&hl=en&as_sdt=2&as_vis=1&oi=scholarr
  7. Give them the username (my name, duh?) and a password. then change the password. Doesn't say you can't change the password. Nope - no job is worth giving up that kind of privacy for.
  8. My bike was sitting in a puddle of tears this morning. At first I thought it was oil, but then remembered I don't have a Harley.
  9. Just because they can't find records doesn't mean it's fake. Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's real. Still, I enjoyed the legal thought experiment.
  10. I got a spam/scam email yesterday telling me that my flight ticket for New York had been charged to my credit card (no departure city, flight number, dateof travel or airline though) and to "click on this link for more details". The hyperlink displayed as something like flightcheck.com but the href was to some alphanumeric domain like d90j3jd.co.jp. After it popped up on my screen and I closed the popup I couldn't find the message again to delete / mark as spam etc. Turns out they put an old date on it so it sorted down the bottom of the list. Maybe that's to stop me finding it again? I dunno. Just seached for flight and found it again.
  11. He tried to kill the guy. A month or two would be an insult.
  12. Is this the most important thing for our governor to be worrying about? Last governor had his wife design the plate and this one wants to undo it. Will the next governor have his kid design the next Ohio plate? Bring back red white and blue. That did not need to be fixed.

You would get the same trasparency image if the glass was wet? You're simply defeating the random refraction of light as it hits the rough surface by applying a transparent layer that fills in the rough surface and leaves you with a refraction-friendly flat surface layer. Top tip: Put the frosted side on the INSIDE of the bathroom window...
  15. Much easier to read. Doesn't rust. Plate is assigned to car and never changes (unless you buy a vanity plate). Plate lasts the life of the car. You can order a duplicate rear plate and when you tow a trailer you put the spare rear plate on the trailer - the trailer is not registered separately.
  16. I never figured out what happened to that format. My wife had XX99XX on one vehicle and I had XXX9999. Then soon after that all the XX99XX plates just stopped being issued and they went back to XXX9999. I saw plenty of EQ99XX but never AX99XX, BX99XX or any other letter combination. Was that a one-year-only deal?
  17. ^ So how does that happen? Do people sign in to their favorite video sites using their FB account?
  18. Mods: Could we merge this with the existing thread? http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=77181 Definitely waiting for that sentencing hearing. The sentences will likely all be concurrent. If sentenced to 2 years then he could be released immediately on time served or have just a couple of months left to serve. He was military I believe. Reserve or National Guard I think. Not any more.
  19. Please just go back to the red/white/blue plates. No need to change them. In the UK they have used the same simple license plate design for decades and it's not a problem there. The only changes are the numbering scheme (ran out twice) and the addition of the country code on the left (blue bar with GB on it on newer plates ) (all european countries use this plate design)
  20. Hate the "Beutiful Ohio" design. I ordered a replacement fro my old red/white/blue vanity plate on my bike - and the replacement was this pastel bs. Kept the old plate instead (same number, so who cares?) I was weirded out by the pink license design because it looks just like a UK Driving License. The resemblance was uncanny.
