Would *you* chase him?

It is static for me. Just a pic of a truck halfway through an intersection.

Is it supposed to be animated? Not animated for me, and clicking on it just brings it to the center of the screen.

I bought a camera from ebay ($59) and paid for it thru paypal. Been 3 weeks so I went to check on it and the auction is gone. I have the emails from ebay confirm I won and paid, but the links to the item in the email give me an error that the item doesn't exist. I googled and found that ebay will cancel auction for various reasons (copyright, non-allowed items etc) and those cancellation sometimes happen after the item is purchased and paid for - but ebay will send out an email warnign of the cancellation - I got no such email. I tried to contact the selle but it asked me to select an item number too discuss and it's not in that list. I went to open a dispute and the item IS listed as a disputable item, so I opened the dispute. They are giving the seller a week to respond to my non-recevied-item complaint. Anyone else seen this before? What is also weird is they have done over 300 auctions in the last month (~1700 in the last 18mo) with tons of good feedback but they currently have *nothing* for sale. Feedback is still rolling in - ie they got 4 positie feedback today already... Seller is http://myworld.ebay.com/fashionjewellery125

What am I missing here? Quality of image looks like a still from an NTSC-quality video feed. Possibly a dashcam. But why is this pic in the funny picture thread? Or did someone post a jpg from an animated gif?

The video says the bike swerved but doesn't say if it swerved out of its lane. The jury is still out on of the car had some fault - if the car an dbike were in the same lane prior to the bike's avoidance maneuver then the car has some explaining to do. If the were in different lanes the the car would likely be exhonorated. I'm wondering if that debris could have just been ridden over...? Looks like 1x4s. Hindsight, of course.

Don't "hate to say it". If the accident was not the car's fault then it wasn't the car's fault, and it's not "bad" to say that. Just because we're on a motorcycle forum doens't mean we can't exhonorate cars when someone else is to blame. If the biker was at fault then there is no shame in saying that (Crew parking lot is a perfect example). Or maybe it's someone else, or maybe nobody is at fault. We can't let our affiliation as motorcyclists cloud our judgement or we won't learn from these accidents. Details are still emerging. I find it important to understand bike accidents that make the news lest I wind up as the next headline. We can all learn from this accident.

Yup. Time flies when your leg isn't in a cast.

For comparison... In the UK three men were just jailed for looting - they got 2 years each. Two boys who used social media to try to organize looting in their city were jailed for four years each. This has started a debate on deterrence versus making the punishment fit the crime. Some argue that once someone has been sent to jail it's really more of a case of "revenge" to keep them for years and years if they are no longer a danger to society. (ie Kiddle fiddlers can rot in there for all I care, but 5 years may be too much for embezzling money where nobody is hurt and the person won't be in a position to do it again once released.) On the flip side, I bet there would be far fewer DUIs if a first offense was 5 years in jail. I think the lentgh of time a person stays in jail should reflect the need to protect the rest of society, whether by simple physical seperation or by the time taken to rehabilitate the offender. Once they are no longer a threat to society their crimes can be paid for in other ways, such as fines, community service etc. In the DUI example it would be more appropriate for a massive-deterrent-crackdown on DUI to involved fining someone a high percentage of their annual income, or serve long terms of community service rather than just sitting in jail for years.

Isn't that the point of the deterrent factor?

Avulsion Fracture? Where the ligament/tendon is stretched so far that rather than tearing the tendon it actually pulls a chunk of bone off with it... Not fun. I had an avulsion fractor of my fibula. I was lucky that I didn't need surgery. My best advice is to follow what your doctor / physio say as far as recovery. Don't try to be a hero and speed it up. Slow and steady wins the race. As an example, I was unsure if the ligaments in my foot would reconnect themselves or if they'd be just flappin' inthe breeze for the rest of my life. The doc put me in the cast for 6 weeks total and during that time I felt fine and considered goign out for a drive or a ride. When I had my last followup the doc confirmed that the ligaments reconnected and it was the 6 weeks in the cast that gave them that opportunity. I f I had ditched the boot then I would probably have prevented the ligaments from re-connecting and needed surgery. I always said my goal was to get back to Karate as quickly as possible, NOT necessarily to get out of the cast quickly. Good luck with your healing! I feel your pain. Literally!

"Having a phone number in it" could not be the reason. Must be something else like it failed phone verification or something.

Did they catch her? -
First time since the day I broke my ankle 2 months ago. I still don't have the strength / flexibility in my ankle to lift my toes up to shift down without having to lift who whole foot off the peg. Rode 4 miles and my ankle was in a bit of pain. Just need to ease back into it slowly. As exected, the plantarflexion/dorsiflexion (gear change down, gear change up) movements against a stiff motorbike boot are a little too much for my ankle right now. They work the damaged muscles/tendons, and the dorsiflexion (lifting the foot up) is limited by ligaments that basically siezed while wearing the cast for 6 weeks. Give it a month and I'll be back to commuting hopefully. Definitely next season. The good news is that riding a motorcycle is now officially a part of my therapy! Fun fact: I can't lift my toes up on my bad foot - The tendons/muscles are trapped by the bad ligaments and that has left me with a temporary partial paralysis of the toes. Snap kicks and roundhouse kicks rely on you lifting your toes out of the way and connecting with the ball of the foot, so a full return to karate is still a month off.

stalliontamer1618 comes back to Amanda Dunn out of Reynoldsburg. Ask what payment methods he would accept. Hopefully he says cash only. Western Union = scam

Yeah, you're confused into thinking that evidence exists that casey anthoney is a murderer. If you have such evidence then why didnt you share it with the prosecutor?? I mean that guy brought nothing. Maybe you meant; "Mainstream media has presented me with just enough over-dramatized 'information' for me to believe that she murderd her daughter". If only they prosecuted her as expertly in court as they did in the media...

I get a roadrunner customer in Dayton. I don't see a domain for securemailhost.info Who is DP&L? Just so you know - if your bank gives you your money back then you are no longer a victim and have no legal standing to pursue it. I got ripped off for $3k and my CC company caught it and refunded me. The bank that the scammer actually got money out of (kiting convenience checks) was left with nothing to go on. My CC company wouldn't deal with the. I even requested a copy of the forged check from the CC company so I could give it the victim bank. -
That pic sure makes it looks like the car rear-ended the bike... And piushed it for at least 20 feet... RIP rider. My thoughts to the family.

It's not the fact the the puppy died that make me mad - it's the manner in which the animal died, the suffering inficted and the mindset that would make him think that's ok. It's evidence of a pattern of thinking that is incompatible with civilized society. I do like the idea of sentencing him to community service at a dog shelter. Maybe that would change his mindset and make him less likely to do something like this in the future.
