  1.

And to put this in perspective.  Here is a list a attacks by Islamists that have occurred so far in 2015

Mine was not a list, just an answer to the question of why we never hear about sectarian violence in the name of Hinduism or Bhuddism.

You want a peaceful religion?  Try Weak Agnosticism.  Nobody ever killed anyone else screaming; "I personally don't know if god exists or not but I respect that your beliefs may be different from mine."

  2. I rode home in the snow - about 10 miles - one time.  Didn't check the forecast before I left so assumed clear dry roads meant it was safe to ride out to the dojo.  3 hours later when I went to ride home there was a couple inches of snow on the ground.   It was an uneventful, if maybe a little slow, ride home.

  3. I back my lifted Humvee up to the disabled parking space at the front Whole Foods with my exhaust pointing into the front door.  Then I make them pack my groceries in a bag woven from the delicate rib bones of endangered songbirds.  When I get home I take the bag, cram a passing duck into it and throw it off a bridge into the local clean water reservoir.

Then I congratulate myself for being eco-minded enough to shop at Whole Paycheck Foods.

  4. I need or organize better.  I've been spending a couple hours a day this last week going through and cleaning up  in there, going through old boxes.  The most common thing I say is; "Wow, when did I buy this?" as I pull brand new unopened packets of drill bits or a fancy set of pliers out of a long-forgotten box.

Either that or "THAT'S where that went!!"  (I have and old military ammo box I'm going to bolt to my trailer as a storage tub for ratchet straps etc - I got a special lock for it which promptly disappeared int the workshop void, just found it yesterday after being missing a year)

  5. I need to do something similar.  I have a 3-car garage that is my dedicated workshop.  It was drywalled but never taped.  I need to strip it bare, replace some drywall panels hen mud and tape the whole thing before painting it.  It's 1000 sqft, so won't e cheap to pay someone to do.

  6. Which way do you want to pay me to argue it?  This is one of the issues they would litigate.

I was trying to say that the vehicle owner did not have the choice of simply abandoning the vehicle.  I'm just not sure if the landowner can tell the towing company to bill the vehicle owner directly, or if he has to pay him himself then sue the vehicle owner.

  7. Fear my Google-Fu

11/10 court date. He has like six felonies against him right now.

All for an event that happened more than 2.5 years ago.

But I graciously bow to your google-fu, as I was not able to get that far at all...

  8. Ihe's going to have to buy a replacement vehicle no matter what happens - but the same would have been true if he'd left it in the swamp, so that's really not a major factor IMHO.

If he abandons the vehicle, does he still not have to pay the towing fee when the owner/government has it removed?

If a private landowner has the vehicle removed then does the landowner get the towing bill and have to chase the vehicle owner for reimbursement?   Or can the towing company bill the vehicle owner directly?

  9. I got my bronco stuck in a construction site after hours one time about 18 years ago testing the 4x4 after doing some work.  The tow truck had to drive 1/4 mile into the site, get as close as it dared to the ditch I was stuck in, and hook me up with his winch.  It took it 30 mins to reach the site because the driver insisted was walk the path before he drove it, to ensure HE did not get stuck.   We found a safe route for him, he pulled my truck out and we both followed the safe route back to the road.

My bill was $100, and I was stuck in a ditch just like the Jeep in the story, nosed down at 45deg.  No damage done.
