  1. Just like Fight Club a good road is not something you share on a public forum.

Too many riders will mess it up. It will get too much attention, the police will start patrolling it more.

Good riders, once they have proven themselves, can be brought into the fold once they have been deemed worthy.

I am going to get flamed by the squids & the squids that think they are beyond a squidly existence that will say they need to ride roads like this to gain experience. I say bullshit.

    Loose lips kill great roads.

Jeez...I've been a very bad boy.I'm gonna have to go back and delete 80-90% of my posts.I tell everyone I can about every good road and every newly paved twisty road I come across.:)

BTW...it's loose gravel that kills good roads, not loose lips.

  2. one corner on the whole road and you guys can't handle it? LOL

    don't come to kentucky you wouldn't make it 1/5 of a mile.:D

Have you ever ridden in southeastern Ohio?

I went over and rode KY 227...very good road, but 536 is much more demanding.227 has a lot of very good medium to high speed sweepers whereas 536 is MUCH tighter and less predictable.

  3. 536 is still good, but a far cry from what it was when it was first paved back in 2007.I was working at Mitchell power house and staying in Shadyside.I would run 536 2 to 3 times in both directions about 4 nights a week. When it has fresh pavement I don't think there is a better road in Ohio.

Another good thing about working at Mitchell...every Saturday I would take 147 from Bellaire to Belmont to get home and ride it back on Sunday night. It was in much better shape then too.

  4. Forums can tell you about some good roads, but if you're hunting for "hidden gems",the best way to find them is to explore.Get a Delemore Atlas,go to Google maps,go to the NCDOT site in March and look for upcoming paving projects. If you're willing to poke around, you'll find those hidden gems that even most of the locals don't know about.I've been riding seo roads for years and I found three more gems this year...none were mentioned on any internet site.

  5. I just rode some of this route last weekend...368,607,227 and 127.

    Here's a couple pics of 227...

For those who don't know 227,these top two pictures give you a good taste of the 18 miles of 227 below 22? down to 368.

The western section of 607 between 127 and 227 was beautiful...

If I was closer I would definitely be on this ride.I had 706 miles in going over and checking out these great roads last weekend.

For those who follow rideohio, sorry about double posting these pics.

  6. 56 between Bloomfield and 278. Do a loop by hitting 374 (hocking). 278 south from 56. All of those are heavily wooded and would be a nice scenic ride with nice places to stop and enjoy scenery.

    Mary

    I'd also add Thompson Ridge(off of 374),Big Pine between 374 and 664,Illsboro-Ceder Falls between 374 and 93.

If you ride Illsboro-Ceder Falls stop in the wind chime shop about mid way. It's an interesting little store with some amazingly beautiful wind chime tones.

In a totally different area...northeast of Marietta...255 is a great fall colors ride.Dalzell Rd from 821 to 565 is also very pretty in fall.

  7. maps are often misleading. sometimes they make the road look nice and curvy and it's not quite as nice as the map makes it appear.

I feel for you guys up north. down here we have kentucky. lots of great roads in kentucky. ohio can't hold a candle to it.

lots of guys around here don't know about 227 that goes into georgetown ky. it will wear your ass out it's so curvy. go fast enough and you can almost get motion sickness lol

If you use a Delorme and explore,I gaurentee you,you will find great roads that very few other people know about.Internet sites and posts give you the better known roads, but if you are willing to dig a little deeper there are some real gems out there...even here in the flatlands of seo...I'm sure there are some undiscovered gems in Kentucky.

BTW...I was heading over to check out 227 today,it was mentioned on another site also.

  8. I think it's more of a "non-existent" parents. Having a dad around in the black community is fucking rare.

Of course, somehow, that's my fault as a white guy.

    Very racist.

Bad parenting knows no color lines.

It's funny how racists always blame the other racial groups and never hold their own ancesters(it was white guy greed that brought blacks here in the first place),or their own groups actions, accountable.

If you think I'm giving black folks a free pass, refer back to the second line of my post. Here in Muskingum county we just had a young woman burnt to death by a white woman and her two black friends. It was the white girl that instigated it.

  9. 669 from Malta to Eagleport is currently being paved. It will probably be done in a couple weeks...just in time for a fall colors ride along the river. This is the section of 669 that parallels the Muskingum river and takes you to Eagleport where 669 gets really good.

669 will now have new pavement from Malta all the way to Crooksville.

    Enjoy!

P.S. By now they should be done paving the section of 800 from Antioch to 255.Fly to Antioch was paved last year,so this will extend the fun all the way to 255.

  10. I changed the channel. and again, and again...

imo there's almost nothing but crap on tv

That's why I got rid of my T.V. IN 2006...haven't missed it at all!

I was in my teens when the original SNL aired...I don't think they will ever top the original cast.I can still remember King Tut,The Killer Bees,The Coneheads,Smarui T.V. Repairman,Weekend News(Jane you ignorant slut),Roseann Roseannadana,Landshark, and on and on.How can you top that shit?

  11. Y'all problee don't wanna hear about good ole twisty CR19 and CR22 that runs the hills west of SR60 to Warsaw.

I do,I do.I've been playing on some of the good county roads in Muskingum,Hocking and Washington counties this year,so I'm always up for another good twisty county road. How's the pavement conditions?

As soon as I get a new back tire on the bike I'll be up to check out CR19 and CR22.:)

  12. Well you seem to be forgetting that your not stepping up the current as well. Hell a spark plug is 25-30K V but that wont kill you because there is no current. And Tesla coils can be in the 100's if not millions of V and wont kill you.

Nope...didn't forget about the amperage. One of the main causes of injury due to getting shocked is falls.Grab that spark plug or Tesla coil on a ladder or even a bucket truck and tell me about current.

Like I said...it's unlikely, but possible to hurt someone.I'm sure they ground out the de-energized lines before they work on them.We always do in industrial plants. There is always a chance of an idiot doing something stupid...more so when you're dealing with the general public.

  13. Okay. Just to let you know, the transfer switch prevents back feeding the grid.

Very important!Remember...that transformer on the pole is a step down transformer,if you forget to open the main and backfeed that transformer, you will be stepping up to close to 6700 volts. You could possibly seriously hurt a lineman working on the line.Unlikely, but possible.

  14. There's good honest people and events out there.

The media concentrates and delivers every time. But they only deliver the garbage.

    RIP dude.

Here's to the good, hardworking and honest ones!

    So true!

The freakshows are out there, but they are a very small percentage of the population.

I tend to remember people like the ones that lifted the burning car of off the guy and saved him.

  15. On a lighter note. This was a really good ride. UP, Dave (core), and I hauled much ass for many miles. 78 east of 83 now has good pavement and was fun.

376 north of McConnelsville is worth avoiding though. There were a couple blind hills that dump you right into unmarked turns. We were taking it easy, but a faster pace.on that road good have.had bad results.

376 worth avoiding? That's one of my favorite rides.I just took another group of three riders through there today at a pretty good pace. They seemed to like it.

    To each his own.
