  1. Are you off work the rest of the week or something?

Definitely "or something". I'm unemployed again so I've got free time to ride around, do housework, look into more contract work, etc... (at some point it will hopefully be frequent enough that I can say "i'm between contracts.")

  2. I may, I don't know yet though. Earliest I can be out is by 3-330pm on my bike.

Today (Wednesday) is no good for me probably because the family decided to stay 1 more day as of last night and won't be leaving town till Thursday morning.

That's cool. I'll probably go once it warms up so probably early afternoon for me once cagers are done with lunch.

Have fun with your family! They don't last long enough, even if they do overstay their welcome sometimes. ;-)

I have a friend who earned herself the nickname of "houseguest"when she was in college. But from what I know of her visits with friends, she was always welcome at places.

  3. I won't be there today as I said above palandor, but maybe someone will. :dunno:

Also, it doesn't bother me. If I want to hammer it for a bit, I will wait at next stop...no biggie. I've calmed down a lot since I had kids though.

You've got coolthings to put on yer bike. :-)

Yea, kids will do that to you...

  4. I'll ride today(4-10). I can be at the Marathon gas station next to Orchard Ln about 1p.(seems like i'm always late by about 10 minutes though.) I'm not really a fast rider or an edge-of-the-seat rider, just out to have fun and enjoy the weather. :-)

I can't ride sunday though due to family stuff. (grounded kid = a quiet weekend.)

  5. Thursday if I can ride it'll be later evening for sure because I have to watch the kids after work while my wife goes somewhere that she has to be.

I can't set anything in stone for you palandor I'm sorry, I have newborns and I never really know if I can 100% make it out during the weeknights. Weekends, YES, weeknights...never sure. I want to say Hell yeah, but I will say maybe...;)

Ah yes, newborns! Maybe's good enough for me.

  6. You may want to try a place called "Thrashing Trails". I see you live in beavercreek (so do I). It's a pay-to-ride place next to greene county career center. It's $10 a day on sat and sun for about 150 acres of trails. It isn't marked, but it's 2 or 3 driveways north of the school and there's an old water truck out by the road. It's a good place for a beginner as long as it isn't muddy. I know a few trails in beavercreek and fairborn (not legal) but they aren't worth the risk of trespassing charges.

Thanks! I know where the GC career center is; I'll check out their location. It's close enough that I wouldn't have to trailer the bike.

There was some "treehouse" and loading ramp in the woods off of Hilltop road; I saw 2 trucks with their quads back in there and almost stopped to ask if I could play too, but I passed it and couldn't make a turn-around.

  7. i really cant think of anything for a girl to do that would cause them to want to leave the room, everything I've got is from experience with my roommates

If she's into guns and dogs, perhaps approach her with fingernail polish and ask if she wants to get all girly...

  8. i usually just say fuck it and leave it on if i'm running in somewhere quick like the gas station. gas station attendants get a little nervous when you are in a hurry though and run through the front door in full gear with a dark visor still down. then they realize you are just pre paying

    :-)

I've only done that once. Never went back to that gas station; I hate the ones that don't have pay-at-the-pump and won't give them my money.

Usually I just leave it on the bike if I'm running in somewhere for a few. Otherwise, places like work, or when I went to school, I take it with me. It's a plain black simple HJC with a few scuffs on it. Nothing special, nothing neat looking or remarkable. But it's very functional!

I didn't have a lock on my previous bike, so I'd just strap it to the mirror and tie the strap to the bar; took about 30 seconds to get it tied and 3 minutes to get it undone; messing with that looks suspicious if you're not wearing motorcycle gear.

  9. Palandor,

I was exactly right there and was the only bike..lol. One of our clocks are wrong. Maybe I was near 1130am then? IDK, but you wasn't there. I can't remember the exact time, but I'd put money on me being wrong about the time I showed up. It probably was closer to 1130 if I missed you. I do remember still being on here at 10:45am...My post above says 1043am, so there was no way I was there at 1105. Maybe 1135?

I showed too late I now know and missed you.

Ok, whew, since I've never met anyone in person yet, I figured I was "doing it wrong". ;-)

And I thought I was late at 10 minutes past when I said I'd be there!

After I left the station, I headed east, took a left on N. Valley Rd and started off with Hilltop Rd. Not much on 35..

    Next time!

  10. They are a bunch of good-ole boys that mostly just hang out drinking and riding motocross. Other than that, mostly harley and triumph.

Hmmm, I need someone to ride dirt with (and somewhere to ride, preferably closer than 2.5 hrs (wayne national forest) would be nice, but I'd go for the day). I don't know jack about dirt/trail riding and would prefer to ride with someone who already does it and would know how to get me unstuck/out of shiznat I get myself into... ;-)

    Other than that, well, no.

  11. Yea thats where everybody meets. Anyone down to ride tomo for a bit?

    I can't. I've got thing I gotta do. ;-) (family thing).

Maybe wednesday evening depending on weather, which looks iffy at the moment. I'd be home and ready to ride for 1.5-2 hrs if we left about 6-ish.

  12. Palandor,

I was at Marathon to meet up with you at 1105am and nobody was there. Got a smokey and a water and hung out for a bit and nobody showed.

Rode alone for 1.5 hours, and then met up with Ohdaho in Beavercreek and headed south. Got back home at 345pm.

    DOH!

I showed at 11:10 at the Marathon (orchard lane, right?) , got fuel, pulled off to the side to fix the speedo cable (gotta get some locktite!), then headed out.

I rode for about 2 hrs toward Cedarville & Cliffton, Xenia etc) then came back home.

I'm totally bummed I missed you. I must be doing something wrong that we didn't catch each other. Check the jpg I'm attaching. X marks where I pulled off to the side to fix the speedo cable. Let me know what I'm doing wrong. I'll PM you my digits so we don't miss next time.
